Always delighted to get a W

I will always take a W any way we can get it. And backup QB Card getting hurt when he did helped because he had a hot hand for Texas, far more dangerous than the starting QB. We finally caught a break with that injury. Card came back in later but he might have gotten a TD if he didn't get hurt earlier when he had the Longhorns on the move. Now we need to beat Kansas to get into a bowl game. Consolation prize but need SOMETHING to hang our hat on this season.

NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I WANTED MY ALMA MATER TO LOSE. I OWE IT FOR MY SUCCESSFUL CAREER, LIFE AND FINANCIAL SECURITY. I'M NOT AN UNGRATEFUL BASTARD. MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY IT.
So with this win today which coach has the worst 3rd year performance of any in the modern wvu football era? Let me hear his name

As usual I let the numbers do the talking.

Dana Horgorsen in his 1st 3 Big 12 seasons was 11-16 in Big 12 games.

Neal Brown in his 1st 3 Big 12 seasons is 10-15 in Big 12 games.

Neal is 17-17 overall compared to Dana’s 18-20 overall.

Counting only Big 12 games is comparing apples to apples. Using overall is comparing apples to oranges.

So if Neal beats Kansas then he will be 11-15 to Dana’s 11-16, one loss better than Dana. If WVU loses to Kansas then Neal will be 10-16, one loss worse than Dana. So Kansas determines whether Neal or Dana has the worst 3-season record in Big 12 games. Pretty much the 2 worst 3-year records for a WVU coach by both since Frank Cignetti (1976-79). Like 2 shriveled peas in a pod. Neither anything to brag about.

Obviouslyy if Neal beats Kansas then WVU will be in a bowl game but it would be, again, comparing apples to oranges, win or lose, to use overall season records.

Those are the numbers talking. Yell at them.

That wasn't the question you were asked. Who had the worst 3rd year of any modern wvu coach?

Why do you claim to be against comparing apples to oranges? There is no greater example of this than comparing "Doc" Spears record, with wins against Podunk University and Greater Halifax College of the Blind, to modern era coaches playing the likes of Oklahoma, Texas, etc.

HOW ABOUT THIS?

The Guy With the Numbers Game here: Let the numbers do the talking.

Neal Brown has the WORST Big 12 standings EVERY season than in the previous 5 Big 12 seasons before his arrival.

How can you defend that? That's not A Climb that's a tumble.

WVU in the Big 12 has been

2021 tied for 6th with 1 game to go against last-place Kansas

2020 tied for 6th

2019 tied for 7th

2018 tied for 3rd in final season before Neal Brown became coach

2017 tied for 4th

2016 tied for 2nd

2015 tied for 5th

2014 tied for 4th

2013 tied for 7th

Any which way you turn Neal Brown has been a bust. I don't like it because it's the alma mater I love. Rich, Don, Bobby, Jim, Bill all did better by WVU. Dana was a mixed bag but pretty close to Neal at the bottom of the quality pile. Just a fair assessment by the numbers, which don't make excuses.

Why can't you just answer the question. What wvu coach had the worst 3rd year in modern wvu football history?

PS. The only thing you like about numbers is cooking them for your own agenda

Only way to compare coaches and teams is if every team and game and opponent were identical. Comparison is bogus.

OK, YOU'RE SO DAMN BRILLIANT. WHAT WVU COACH HAD A WORST 1ST 3 YEARS RECORD THAN NEAL BROWN OTHER THAN DANA, AS THE SAME CREDIBILITY LEVEL AS NEAL? WHY CAN'T YOU JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION?

OH, HELL, I'LL DO YOUR WORK FOR YOU. YOU'RE TOO LAZY TO MAKE YOURSELF LOOK STUPID.

FIRST 3 SEASONS AT WVU
Neal Brown 16-17
Dana Holgorsen 21-17
Bill Stewart 27-12
Rich Rodriguez 20-17
Don Nehlen 24-12

Yea right

TRY READING MY POSTS OVER THE PAST 30 YEARS. THE BIGGEST COMPLAINT ABOUT ME WAS THAT I WAS THE #1 WVU HOMER. EVEN VOTED THAT HONOR ONE YEAR. STOP MAKING YOURSELF LOOK SO FOOLISH. I LOVE MY ALMA MATER. THE VICTORY OVER CLEMSON MADE MY HEART LEAP WITH JOY. SO DID THE ONE OVER CLEMSON. I LOVE BOB HUGGINS AND THINK IT'S A CRIME THAT HE ISN'T IN THE HALL OF FAME ALREADY. GEEZ, ONLY 3 PEOPLE HAVE WON MORE GAMES THAN BOB AND HE'S NOT IN THE HALL YET? OR DO YOU HAVE A QUARREL WITH THAT, TOO, JUST BECAUSE I POSTED IT?

Getting cranky are we? If you don't want to answer than question then how about this one. When Neal took Troy to LSU What happened? When Terry and Rich visited yesterday what happened?
