Anyone watching this season of AHS? Show is freaking insane this year. As much as they are pushing the limits this year, imagine what it would be like if that was an HBO or Netflix show.

I mean Jesus, a quasi-vampire dude pretends to be gay to attract a hipster guy to the penthouse suite, kills him, drinks his blood, Lady Gaga's character masturbates to it, then she and the killer make out.

It was a thrill a minute, but it really wasn't quite the kind of horror that I dig -yet. Season one, season 4 were the "scariest" IMO (and that clown was the best slasher character evah). I'm looking forward to seeing how they develop this. They really dropped a LOT of gore/action in the first episode - which is good. Hopefully they will sharpen the plot up a bit and make it perfect.

Season 4 was was disgraceful. I should have stopped watching a few episodes in but I hoped it would eventually get good, of course it never did.

I'm curious why you thought S4 was so bad...I liked it other than WAYYY too much of Jessica Lang sulking around the tent. It wasn't always great but it had its moments.

I liked Seasons 1 and 2, but couldn't get into season 3 (if that was the Coven one). Didn't watch 4 at all. I've tried watching the first couple eps this season, but it's a bit too far out there for me. It almost feels like they are trying so hard to push the envelope that the story gets lost.

Boring characters that they focused on way too much, but I guess they had to since the story was even more boring with played out scenarios like Evan Peters character's romance

Probably the only horror-fan who just doesn't get AHS. Tried season 1, twice.. and season 2, once.. then just gave up. I don't know, the first season they just threw every horror trope at you, and the characters did nothing for me.

Do want to check out the Freakshow one, because that's a very original theme. Not many movies take a look at the underbelly of a circus/freaks.

Haven't started Hotel yet, but glad to hear that it's pretty good so far. But IMO the show has gotten progressively worse every year.

Season 1 - great
Season 2 - good
Season 3 - bad
season 4 - awful

I don't know, maybe plot is not the word I'm looking for. It just seemed like a bunch of different things were happening randomly. As if the writers started down a path and really didn't know where to go once they began. Twisty the clown for example, probably the most badass character in the show and had absolutely nothing to do with the big picture.

hell that's what I liked about it. Give ya a nice little break away from the main story line. I don't mind several different things happening at once. Keeps it from getting boring. Also, the more gore and titties the better.
1 or 2 well developed story arcs > a bunch of non or poorly developed ones.

@UK_Norm nailed it for me. Just a bunch of ideas thrown at a wall. Didn't know where it was going and it seemed like they just went episode by episode.

Maybe I'm bitter though. So many fans of AHS swear by it.. And then turn around and say ”oh I can't watch horror movies.. Too gross and scary". Wut? People fawn over this while the entire Horror Genre gets overlooked, IMO.

I'm not generally a fan of horror genre any more these days. Most of the stuff that comes out anymore is just a repackaging of something someone else has already done.

It can be a tough Genre, I won't lie. You have to wade through a lot of crap to find the good stuff. But damn.. There's so much good out there... And so much better than anything in AHS.

I'll give freakshow a try though.
