....wonder why those posters who flamed on Michelle Obama's "For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country...." have not said a word about Trump's most recent comments about America, his respect for Putin, and how when Putin was referred to as a "killer" he said "What do you think...our country's so innocent?"..........double standard, perhaps?

Trump's comments about America not being innocent sound very, very liberal to me. Obama said it all the time, right? Not sure why you are upset about this?

I'm not sure why you, and other conservatives, are NOT!

then obama hands out 50 million free passes to the Muslim countries where he dropped over 100,000 bombs the past 5 years...
https://travel.state.gov/content/da...Y2016AnnualReport/FY16AnnualReport-TableI.pdf

and they block Trumps 'ban' on Muslims...

this is/was obamapuppets plan to ruin the US...

I'm not a fan at all of those comments. Being the biggest and baddest motherfvcker on the block means never having to say sorry.

This is just epic ...if I am reading into it correctly, seeing as there are several comments within the post ...am I seeing what I think I am? Please expand if you would...

I had a debate with another poster earlier this week and I would like to ask a non-American citizen ( I assume you're Canadian but please correct me if I'm wrong ) their opinion.

Do you believe that America has generally been a force for good or for evil in the world?

Some may look at this as a loaded question I am sure you agree? However I will take it on and start by saying SOME of Trump's policy as far as I can understand it thus far I agree with on a worldwide scale. The isolationist tendencies he is exhibiting in terms of foreign policy I agree with for the most part. Maybe it is time to as he espouses to put his domestic policy first. Let the rest of the world sink or swim, and just shutter the doors. Would this be so bad? Personally I think this has both risk and reward. He seems awfully Democrat on this front imo, at least from my personal vantage point....good or evil? Not sure I can equate it in these terms. I do not think America is evil, let's get that right up front. Good? In some ways yes. However when I hear comments like biggest and baddest mutherfvucker on the block means you don't have to say sorry'? Well...just WTF reaction does the average Merican expect from the rest of the world at that? The immediate one is a laugh, followed by a bit of anger, then followed by some introspection here. Yes I am Canadian, I realize i am not perfect, and yes America has been a benefit to our country, as ours has to you all imo. Friends can tend to critique each other once In a while...it makes them stronger....however not sure I have answered your query ...I am still thinking on this one a bit. The current climate is seriously different than anything over the last 20 years or so....

Actually you're interrupting my question very differently that I intended. Forget Trump, forget Obama, forget Bush etc.

The question is just much more basic. And not loaded. Since our inception, has America generally been a force for good or a force for evil. Nothing is ever 100% so I'm looking in general terms and asking if the United States generally been beneficial to the world or with the world have been better off without her?

I think the honest and objective answer to this question has to be balanced against what the alternatives would be were America not there?

So let's see...Nazism, Fascism, Communism, Radical Islamic Fundamentalism, Totalitarianism, State sponsored Socialism. Which of those Freedom oppressing 'isms' would you rather be living under?

When you decide which would be preferable to the Freedom America has shed blood for to protect and defend, then you can decide if we've been a force for good or Evil.

Obviously, I am much more in alignment with your opinion. But I was reasonably shocked to debate a person on this topic with the poster believing that post World War II we have generally not been a force for good. It actually startled me.

I believe in American exceptionalism. It's pretty simple. Our country is so awesome, it stands on its own and I'm not worried about what other countries think of us. We are the world's true north, the shiny city on the hill, the beacon in the night.

Canada? Good bacon and hockey. That's about it.

I won't get into it with you right now...your bacon comment is mildly amusing at best. If you're so grand, I expect better salvos than that however....

He doesn't need them apparently....he's been to the desert yet never played nice in the sandbox.

Personally, and I may be wrong, I think he is playing both of you for suckers. I believe he is speaking tongue in cheek.

Although I have no doubt he believes in American exceptionalism. Most Americans do.

100% genuine Maple Syrup Dave! Aunt Jemima and that kinda stuff is verboten round here....

When I was still stomping the hometown grounds in Western New York (Buffalo) one of my favorite pastimes was stoppin into many of the local watering holes and ordering some of that fine Canadian brew.

O'Keefe's Lager, Labatt's Blue, Molsen Canadian (my favorite). very good and hearty beer.

Oh Canada!

I think I mentioned to you in that thread how most on the Left do not believe we have been or are good.

That amazes me, but you sure can't prove otherwise to me based on how much they attack what this country traditionally has stood for.

What do you mean IF? Not sure if you noticed, but the world basically burned to the ground over the last 8 years with Ouseless, Pantsuit shart stain, and Lurch handling things. ISIS spread faster than Manifest Destiny with your crew manning the wheel. Go sit down and color a stress picture and let the adults handle this for a while.

Obama, the Bill Stewart of Presidents.

lol So, if a Republican says something that you don't like, you say it sounds like something that a liberal would say?!! Is that what you're going with? Guess what, a liberal/Democrat didn't say it but your fearless leader did, deal with it. Sometimes you just can't make **** go away no matter how much nonsense you spew. smh

Wait a minute ... for 8 years all we've heard from you dolts is how Obama is a Muslim sympathizer which is why he's so soft on terrorism.

Now you're complaining about how many bombs he dropped on them?

Maybe it's just me, but I'm having a hard time reconciling these competing thoughts.

Wow. Give us an idea of what you consider good beer.

The list is too long and would take up too much time. I'll run through some of the top ones in no particular order though.

Church Brew Works chocolate porter (I had 8 different beers there, all were good, but this one stood out)
Dog Fish Head 60 or 90 minute IPA
Chestnut Brew Works Halleck Pale Ale
Purple Monkey Dishwasher
Delirium
Chimay
Morgantown's 80 shilling Scotch Ale
Devil Anse IPA
Blithering Idiot
Loose Cannon IPA

I've made about 45-50 different beers myself ... there were only 2 of them that I'd put behind any Canadian beer I've had.

I could easily get to 100 beers before I'd end up naming a Canadian one, maybe more like 200.
