Ok, so here is my best attempt at starting a conversation about our "football team". These poor bastards have been stealing donors money over the last few years so what are we going to do this year now that our roster budget got bumped up? I tried looking up offensive line transfers and all I see are some guys that are the right size and rated around 87. That's about our average, but is it enough to block for our QB? I know we have a new o-line coach from Colorado with long dreads and NFL experience, so I'm hoping he can polish a turd. I feel like our receivers will be good enough to get open and score points in the Lebbinator offense and I'd like to think the o-line can block for a solid group of running backs.

Shapen is solid when healthy and we have the great white hype and freshman Heisman candidate behind him, so if the season tanks lets put in the backups to draw a crowd to watch the train wreck.

Defense is going to be vastly improved I hope, but man anything is better than what we had last year. I know we brought in a ton of defensive transfers so let's hope we can stop the run. I'm actually not too worried about our pass defense, and I don't know why. Maybe when we get beat it will be through the air. That's more entertaining than watching us get the ball run all over us.

I heard we have a decent punter and a I like our kicker. He's probably my vote for ya boy this year from me and that's sad.

What is going to vastly improve defense? I hope you are correct!

Our DLine will be vastly improved this year. Whitson, Burroughs and Hibbler are better than what we’ve had in the past 5 years and we’ll actually have some speed on the edge this year. Stopping the run and getting pressure on the qb makes lb’ers and pass defense look a lot better.

On paper we should be a lot better on defense but anyone with a pulse can be better than our defensive line last year.

worst talent we’ve ever had since I can remember.

I’m not sure this DL will stop the run. At all. Edge rush on the QB will be much improved though. We lost a couple of good CB. Looks we brought in 1 good one to replace them. And I still question our safeties is pass coverage.

Thread title should have "OT".

Expect very little this year. Certainly dont peacock around if we are 2-0.

I got 5 wins this season, that's my expectation to believe in Lebby. Less than that and I've got doubts. Offense will be good if the OL works out and defense can't be anything but better compared to last year.

The defense might be a little better simply because it could only go up from the bottom. It will not be vastly improved. Offense will have to score high numbers to win. It's Big 12 ball brought to Starkville!

They have a lot more pieces to work with along the DL and if it's improved everything else will be better. Remember we had a 3 star freshman holding down the middle of that horrific line last year. I have no idea about eins. I'm somewhere between 3 and 6. If we beat Arizona State I could see 6. Pretty big if tho. I could easily see 3 also. What a year.

Its got to be better than last years at edge and stopping the run.
