An interesting question posed by an "On The Banks" article...

What the hell is going on indeed?

About the only thing I'd very slightly disagree with is the mention about the present recruiting class if/when a change occurs. -If a qualified hire can be made in a timely fashion and the class can be held together as a result, then that would be absolutely terrific. But if it takes some time to find the best guy for the job, from all standpoints involved, then so be it.

That guy should do himself a favor and STFU. Besides his writing being awful, what is the point of him coming out and saying what my 8 year old knew 4 weeks ago? That he is big enough to admit he was wrong?

So because he was a Kyle Flood/Chris Laviano supporter, (and held that position as recently as 1 week ago), but has now changed his mind, he's a horrible writer and should STFU? OK....sure.

Yep. My favorite line: "Chris Laviano is the college version of Peyton Manning..... but because of his #NoodleArm." I think we'd all kill for the college version of PM...

No.

He's a terrible writer, because he's a terrible writer. Read his stuff. It's usually poorly crafted and awkward to read. But $50 bucks a month for internet access and a Mac Book makes everyone a journalist now, regardless if they can write or not.

On to the meat. He should STFU because he just wrote about 7,000 words as nothing more than filler. There is no insight there. It took him until 11/1/15 to ask "What the Hell is wrong with Rutgers football?" Generally, people turn to blogs and other fan sites for insight. It took Laviano having a single digit QB rating in a single game for some magic lightbulb to go off for him?

You can get the same nonsensical "insight" reading this board.

I know some OTB guys. They are good guys and good fans. But that puts a tidy bow on sites created by non-professionals.

If you enjoy it, by all means. But that doesn't change my view on whether he should STUF or not.

Pernetti hired Flood with holding the recruiting class together being a large part of the decision. To be fair, I thought it sounded like a good idea at the time. It was not. Flood started to lose me with all the arrests. He lost me when the grade debacle was much different than what he said it was. Last two games cemented my belief a change is needed. The next coach hiring should absolutely not be based on keeping this class together. Hire the best person and let the chips fall where they may regarding the class. We don't need RUs version of Ground Hog day by basing a coaching hire on keeping a class together

Furthermore, if you were a beacon in the wilderness in support of Flood, up until 48 hours ago, don't expect your comments to be warmly received because you had a Come to Jesus moment.

Thanks for your permission to read the OTB site. -I'd feel so guilty reading it without it.

And I wouldn't exactly categorize what he said as a "come to Jesus" moment; seemed more like a "come to your senses" moment.

This is the one that really grinds my gears:

"Does the staff not evaluate personnel on a week to week basis?"

I truly don't think so

Nothing personal. Strictly business.

I truly having nothing against Flood personally, and I mean that sincerely. -I simply don't think he knows what he's doing as a coach.

Nor, ruhudsonfan, do I have anything personal against the way you feel. We simply have differing opinions. -So be it. No harm, no foul.
