I think the SEC is getting to a point where we're starting to distance ourselves from everyone else as a conference in baseball. Would anyone be surprised if Florida won it next year? I wouldn't.
To me, that's good news for us. If we can build a team that can get to Omaha, we've got a pretty good chance to win the whole thing.
South Carolina's pitching may not have been as highly regarded as UCLA's, but they weren't that much worse. And South Carolina had a better hitting team, and a more balanced team than UCLA- going with the eye test, the season stats may prove me wrong. I don't remember Carolina making very many errors either.
What's going to probably happen is you're going to see elite players from across the country- I'm mainly talking California here because it's already happening with guys from Texas, Florida, and Georgia- going to SEC schools. It's just going to get better, and tougher.
