I know that everyone thinks that Kodi is going to win the annual Rob-ert Jack-son Memorial Tranfer Award, but does anyone think that there's maybe a chance that he gets his head screwed on straight between now and the end of the season? Charles Rhodes was also in the doghouse from time to time, especially early in his career, but he finally realized that he couldn't mess around and ended up becoming a solid player. And yes, I do think that getting rid of Walter Sharpe was good for Charles.

It may be wishful thinking because I think Kodi has a world of talent and could really help us out.

Plus, with SouthPanoladog's permission, I really like his lineup for next year maybe.

PG- Dee Bost- Can't wait to see him next year. He's really mature for his experience.
SG- Ravern Johnson- Would be a tough match-up for most guards at 6'7" and with his long arms.
C- Jarvis Varnado- Hopefully he stays in school.
SF- Kodi Augustus- Head screwed on, of course. And if he can add defense to his game, he would be great
PF- Romero Osby- How good is he going to be after a year of SEC play?

Sixth man- Barry Stewart and Phil Turner- One is a sharp shooter, and the other is a hustle guy like Dietric Slater, but more under control.

Then we have Twany, and Elgin Baily on the bench as well, plus the two freshmen that we are going to bring in Smith and the post player to be named later. And maybe even Holcombe, although I haven't seen him play very much as a junior.

but Riley Benok is so terrible. Why is he even on the team and why does he even see the floor?

I think he is a very solid player that doesn't turn the ball over and is a good 3 point shooter. I like him. If you think Randy Stewart is coming off the bench you have lost your mind. Stansbury is in loooooooooooooooove with Stewart. When Stewart is out of eligibility don't be suprised if he suddenly starts wearing glasses, gets a beatles haircut, starts leading the team out onto the floor, sits behind the bench during games, sits with Stansbury during press conferences and has hiS mom show up at every game and yell DEFENSE!!!</p>

Every time he got the ball, he had good post position and made a nice move to get a high percentage shot. He also hustled on defense and on the boards and is a load to handle on both ends. He's aggressive so will always have foul trouble but I think he's an above average big off the bench.

I'll give Bailey credit for hustling, but that's about as far as I can go. He is the only player on the team that I can say that I've seen absolutely no improvement from last year. Unfortunately, if Varnado leaves after this year, we won't have a choice but to give him significant minutes next year and depressingly, he may even start.

as long as he never has to start. And if he can come in off the bench for a few minutes and not turn the ball over. And if he can provide some meat to bang with in the post if Varnado has a bad matchup who is pushing him around.

But I just don't see the potential to improve to the level that he could be a starter for this team in the next 2.5 years.

Except for the fact that his FT shooting is 5 times better than last season.

Bailey clearly isnt a starter...yet. He has more post moves than anyone on our team. His footwork in the paint is excellent...he just hasnt developed into being able to finish often enough. His left hand turnarounds often still come out too flat.

Bailey barely played 2 years worth of HS basketball before getting here, and he was used little last season. I think he has developed very well, considering.

He may never start, but next season he will be 1 of 4 post players for us. He is needed, and if he continues to improve like he has already, he will be a valued asset by more than just a few fans.

but he has to learn how to shoot the ball. Everytime he shoots it's like he's throwing a baseball at the goal. There is absolutely no arc on his shot and it pisses me off.
