When I first saw it, I was sure it had to have been blocked. And you're right, we make that FG and we win. But we should remember that Auburn missed a couple of chip shot FGs too. And they have a good kicker. This game should have been a 9-5 Auburn win.
Auburn gave us. You can't control how bad their kicker sucks but you can control our kicking situation.

They didn't get the ball in position. I'll have to watch the replay, but from where I sat it looked like the snap was low and we had to pick the snap up off the ground. It was sort of up, but not right when he kicked it. Maybe he should have hit it anyway, but definitely not all his fault.

And yes the snap was **** but that's still a huge part of kicking a field goal no matter how you slice it. Was that the "Hebrew Howlitzer" that is on a scolly? I am real happy I paying for that schmuck's education let me tell you.</p>

Again, I don't know that much about football. But, if it is a bad snap, and the holder recovers the situation, shouldn't the kicker be unphased? I mean, he starts out in motion assuming the ball is going to be where it is supposed to.
McAdams had a bizarre mix of booming punts, punts to the 2 yard line, and 23 yard punts. A mix IS an improvement -- but we should expect the 23 yarder to be a once in a season screw up..

as a high school kicker, I didn't even pay attention to the snap. You proceed as if the ball is going to be there. It's not the responsbility of the kicker for the ball to be put down and placed correctly.
watching the snap exchange can throw off the timing and cause you to pull or push the ball as you adjust. No I didn't stay at the holiday inn express last night but I did work with a kicker for a summer.
