“This case is about more than a single student-athlete. One of our core
responsibilities is to ensure a level playing field for all
student-athletes and their teams. No team or individual should have an
unfair advantage.”

Sidney was targeted as an example, as we've suspected all along. 17. WE ARE MSTATE!

That almost makes me want Renardo to screw playing and sue right now. The NCAA should never get to apply facts outside of an individual case to the punishment.

I think it's time for some Congressional oversight for the NCAA. The way that can arbitrarily punish schools is ********. They wield too much power with far too little scrutiny. This Sidney situation is a prime example. They should be forced to have clear, established procedures and clear, established punishments based upon findings. This arbitrary case-by-case ******** serves only to allow them to keep the doormats as doormats and promote the big boys.

To add on to the ********....when Veazey, I believe, asked if exhibition game would be included in the suspension, an NCAA official said something to the effect of - every case is handled on an individual case-by-case basis and other cases do not impact it - which obviously is a direct contrast to the quote listed in your post.
