MSU JUCO committ Pernell McPhee...

http://mississippistate.s...8&c=1&nid=3601775

Of course, this was written by Pulitzer Prize winner Yancy Porter
<span class="storybody">"I have three of my teammates from last year that play for S' Eastern LA. I want to go see what they got now (laugh). I do not want to see the MSU coaches though. I will want to know how they could lose to a team like La Tech. SEC schools do not do that."</span>

"I have never gotten anything from them. I am not really being recruited by Ole Miss, but I hope they notice me this year. I really liked the atmosphere there. The fans are pumped and you can tell they are hungry to win. It was kind of crunk up there. They need someone like me waiving"

Can someone answer me this, why do Steve and Yancy have conversations with the same prospect and the prospect says the above about OM, yet Steve is adament that the kid called Croom and told him he was solid? I think someone, ie Yancy , is talking **** and taking shots at MSU.

everyone on Yancy's board thinks Steve takes cheap shots at OM / the Yance. I honestly think that they both take little bitchy jabs at each other. Neither publishes a piece of journalistic integrety free of bias. Both are complete homers, so you really have to take all comments with a grain of salt, because the way in which they are written may not be the context in which they were said or intended to be interpreted. That being said, this kid's comment would be hard to prompt or misconstrue.

can anyone tell me why Croom is still coaching. what pisses me off is he should either believe in his starters or not, look what happened to Craft in the UT vs UCLA game. MSU is an embarrasment to the SEC and I hope they lose every game this year. Croom sucks and the bulldogs suck, they both lack motivation.

....sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Plus, UCLA had nothing behind Craft. He was their 3rd string guy going into the season.

most of Rosebowl's jabs back at Yancy and Chuck were after something that had already been lobbed over by the Spirit "writers". One example would be Yancy's explanation of Cohen offering 80% scholarships to everyone is why MSU baseball is recruiting so well. But like I said.. I don't know the other side of the coin.

Rosebowl does a lot to help kids throughout MS get noticed by not only MSU but other programs looking for athletes. Lots of what he says leads me to believe he enjoys watching a kid come up through junior high and into high school and see him go onto college no matter where it is.

I wouldn't blame the guy if he just decided not to sign, but I've been keeping up with recruiting a long time and never heard one say anything like "I don't want to talk to the coaches" or "they should never lose to them". Hell, Bama lost to La Monroe last year and I don't think any of their recruits said anything remotely close to that. Bizarre.

assumes it's a fluke, including recruits. When Croom loses to La Tech, everyone assumes it's a sign that he still doesn't know what the hell he's doing. I don't blame high value commits for wavering at all. Who wants to play for an idiot?

Yancy was probably asking questions and dancing around that topic. In other words, he probably drug it out of him in a feeble attempt to throw a jab at State. Pretty pathetic.

says something like "can you believe MSU lost to lowly La Tech?" and says it in a condescending tone, how do you think a young man that age will respond?

If I worded my question right, I could probably get an 18-20 to say almost anything I wanted him to say.

What is he was laughing when he said that comment, like it's crazy that they lost that game and he doesn't want to talk to any of the coaches. You think Yancy would say that he was laughing? Yancy looks at any angle he can to say something bad about MSU or have some recruit say something negative about MSU. It's really ridiculous and it's even more ridiculous that people pay for that. Robertson never does that. I don't care if you believe that or not.

in all its Croom hatin' glory is out there for our recruits to read too. We practically tell recruits they be crazy to go here if they have an offer from a bigger program. Doesn't seem like that bothers you too much.

Terrell Grant's commitment to OM. He's obviously not always so objective, but it lends some credence to your theory. On the other hand, he ain't called "Rosebowl" for nothin.

I have no idea what question was asked of that recruit or under what context it was said. However, to act like it was never said is pretty stupid.

ie Ole Miss homers.

After the way your week started, I don't think you should call anyone else a homer. You talked so much **** before the games even started, that some of it was bound to bite you in the ***.

I know I was wrong about our team. I admitted it Sunday. Again, what does this have to do with Steve/Yancy? Nothing, so shut the hell up.

WAIVING? I think you would prefer someone who is waving for your team.

That tells me Yancy is really quoting the guy. Of course, he did break out the "Long and Windy Road" again yesterday.

It is important to the topic because you, the biggest homer on this board, are calling other people homers. You talked all sorts of **** before the season started, talked about how Ole Miss would suck and State was going to beat some *** this year. And then your dumb, homer *** got proven wrong. And to top that, the fact that you believe Yancy is the only homer out of him and Steve is even more homer-damning. Steve is a <17> homer, just like he should be for a site that is catered for MSU.

but you choose to go with Yancy/Steve, when in fact you look pretty stupid defending Yancy. Congrats. I wouldn't expect anything different from you.
