I'm not going to go through the trouble to pull quotes out but I am pretty sure the premise of the article was about kicking out the two MS schools and keeping the ESPN deal.

Therin lies the problem...As charter members we can't be kicked out; the other 10 schools could form a new conference but I'm pretty sure that would negate the TV deal.

I know you like controversy, but you need to find some other ridiculous idea to champion, you will lose on this one.

You are taking your stupidity to new levels.

Ole Miss and us are charter members of the SEC, take away 2 teams and you can't have an SEC championship game which is a massive moneymaker and what originally put the SEC in its position we are in today. Vandy would be the first to go, only private school and suck complete ***.

The article or the arrogant MS fans replying to the article

Ole Miss fans believing that they are still relevant in College Football is like Spain believing it is still relevant in Sea Warfare. Both are a little past their prime.

We are 50 in a conference that has a mean several points ahead of any other conference. There's lots of good schools and programs below us.

I thought I read the other day 8 votes could remove a team from the SEC

Pretty sure two new year day bowls in a row and three in the past 7 years is a little better than irrelevant.

what happened in the past- the guy is correct in the fact that if the SEC removed us and Mississippi, the rest of the teams would have more money to split from TV- whether it is the current deal or they quickly sign another to take its place. We have no TV leverage

Now whether we can actually be removed or not is a different story- but the SEC would still have a huge *** TV contract whether we are in it or not

Now, replacing OM/MSU (or forming a new conference while replacing them) may make sense from a TV market standpoint, but what is the point replacing two perennial losers with two perennial powers?

If I'm Boise State/TCU/Utah/etc., I'm all for the SEC making it tougher of themselves and would love this idea. If I'm Alabama or Florida, I think I'm okay with having 2 to 3 SEC games where I have at least an 80% chance of winning that game any given year. That formula worked fine for them this year and I'm sure they are okay with not rocking the boat.

In my opinion, the incremental revenues generated by replacing us with a Missouri and Va Tech type aren't worth making it more likely that the SEC essentially eliminates itself from National Championship contention every year. Basically, what I'm saying is there has to be a diminishing returns aspect of beefing up the traditional bottom 1/3 of the conference with tougher competition. I think any "power conference" has to have somebody to assume the bottom feeder role for it to effectively operate as a power conference.

The only real options the SEC should consider are A) status quo, B) adding 2 teams for market share, or C) adding 4 teams and create a playoff. The option of replacing the bottom teams with better competition simply creates too much stress on the Top 1/3 of the conference competitively. It's not worth the extra short term revenue.

You see what he is going to be like this summer...just pull the plug unless you really believe the hits/refresh from him are going to really bring in more $$$ from ads.

is one thing, because he has valid points.

But one of our own fans suggesting we leave/get the boot is a bit much.

"Pretty sure two new year day bowls in a row"

You should've stopped there b/c you went on to add a stat that shows ole miss is irrelevant.

on a more practical side, without 12 teams, the pie gets smaller, no SEC Championship Game.

This would never happen, but if the SEC were to ever remove teams for any reason, who do you think would be at the top of the list.

It would be MSU, Vandy, and Ole Miss, probably followed by Arkansas after that.

Vandy adds nothing in terms of TV markets that the SEC doesn't already get with Tennessee. Ole Miss and MSU are in a state whose best TV market is Jackson. Again, it won't happen, but if it were to happen, we all know which schools would be the first ones out.

Kentucky at least offers basketball, and it offers better TV markets.

A couple of winning seasons does that?

By relevance, I was referring to national relevance. State fans don't go around touting imaginary National Titles or bowl trips that took place over half a century ago. From reading some of the Ole Miss replies on that article, one would think you guys are competing for National titles year in and year out.

How much more money does UF, Bama, and etc. need? Does their IPF need gold plated toliet seats with $100 bills to whip their asses? Is more money going to magically make the game more interesting? Improve it on some level? Damn it......Big feces on a stick. People now-a-days think money is the answer to everything. But I digress....

With the exception of State, OM, and Vandy, everyone's athletic budget is north of $50million. Since he is in Orlando.......UFs was $83 million. Bama's $93 million. (link) Okay, you boot the MS schools. UF and Bama's athletic budget is now $90 and $100. Next year you replace State/OM with a better opponents. UF and Bama now have losses. How happy are the Crimson Necks and Jortors that their school got a split of State/OM's SEC money after losing?

I hope these MFers (Texas and etc.) have $200 million budgets in 2020 and beat the **** out of each other in their Power and Money TV Conference. Then in 2030 academics and recruiting becomes so permeated with fraud and criminal activity that the Universities have to shut down athletics. Then all you have left is State, OM, Kansas, KState, Iowa St, Memphis and etc.......playing.

First you would kick out Vandy, then you'd look at only one of UM or MSU, cause if there were only one SEC team in MS, it would eventually have a decent population of support behind it.It's just a question of whetherUM (decent share of Memphis market(?), and huge advantage in national KKK demography(?)) is more or less attractive than MSU (higher average incomeof alums(?), more alums(?)).I really don't know which would be worth more money.

They just cringe at your stupidity. If anything we may laugh until we cry at your posts. It is truly amazing that you believe the things you write on here.
