I don't consider us relevant on a national level, not yet. But having a State fan call someone irrelevant is like throwing boulders in a glass house.

I have always wondered what would happen if only one of us was in the SEC. Whichever school was left could become a national power with the talent here but neither us have a huge TV market. Both of us need the SEC much worse than they need us.

We both could be replaced with a Great number of teams in larger markets.

We both are charter members but exactly how much security does that give us? Obviously neither school will vote the other out (both are state institutions).

Does anyone really know the rule. I have seen where it only takes 8 and I have seen where it must be unanimous.

We have no TV leverage
Halfof the league has no tv leverage when it comes to football.

MSU
Ole Miss
Kentcky
South Carolina
Vandy
Arkansas

If it's all about tv leverage, why not just have Bama, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida, LSU, and Georgia just form their own league and kick the vagrants out? The article is nothing short of an idiotic idea.

I've never seen someone get so much joy out of being an ***. You like it so much that you have made over 18,000 post with 90% of them just to remind us your an ***.

of any state fans acting like we were an elite program. I did see that from several MS fans. That was my point. That would be like midgets aruguing over who was the tallest.</p>

aside i did not see references to us as an "elite" program although i did not read it all.......that said we have finished in the top 5 in football the last 2 yrs in the sec, our men's program finished second in the league this yr. so while i wouln't suggest we're fla or bama, we're a long way from irrelevant. IF the sec wanted to kick out a couple of folks from a competitive standpoint, vandy would be #1 on the hit list, and you could argue for kentucky or ark for a variety of reasons. the bottom line however is that the "decision" if there were one would be based on money, meaning tv sets and MS has a problem in that area. THAT is what could put us both in danger rather than the merits of our ath programs. personally i don't think it comes up anyway.

irrelevant.....you will occasionally break through and have 5-6 win SEC record...you will also have your fair share of losing seasons. UM is the definition of mediocrity and you should be happy with that in football. I'd take it.
