Ain’t that the truth. I ran off in the Army and trying my damndest to get stationed at Fort Knox so I can move back home.
Yeah - the more I read about Pope, his energy, his character, his family, his love of Kentucky, the more I’m beginning to see what Barnhart saw and why he stepped out and made such a out-of-left field hire.
I hope he’s successful. All I know is that for the first time in over four years, I’m really excited about Kentucky basketball. This next couple of months and next year are going to be extremely exciting and definitely interesting.

Rock has been in and out of this program since 1989…crazy. He’s actually an assistant AD now I think.
I was in the the arena the day Happy gave this performance. I remember watching them bring him out in his wheelchair. With assistance he gingerly pulled himself up from the chair to stand at center court with the microphone cradled between both hands. And then he belted out this phenomenal rendition of our state’s anthem. His booming crescendo to close the song about lifted the roof off the arena. It was SPECTACULAR to hear and see live, and the video never gets old. There will never, ever be one better.
Wow! Just f...ing wow! I love that song and really wish Rob Lock, Ed Davender, and Winston Bennett could have won an NCAA title!!!! Go CATS
If he wins 2 tournament games he will have exceeded Cal's last 5 years.
