you walk outside of some roped off area, come back to sign, and you're disqualified? Pretty stupid.

If I wrote the rules, I definitely wouldn't DQ somebody for that - seems a bit harsh. It seems dumb since there are so many people observing professional golfers these days - its not like they are going to get away with cheating. But, at the same time, golfers in the local country club championship don't have the same circumstances. There is more trust involved. Signatures validate the score that is being turned in as accurate. I suppose there is a bit of honor in it from the days of old.

All in all, I have no sympathy for her. You get DQ'ed in junior golf and in high school if you don't sign your scorecard. This has been explained to her from a very early age. Plus, another signature is included on the scorecard. The other player in your pairing keeps up with the score and has to sign it as well. The penalty may be harsh - but everybody is subject to the same rules.

Have you seen that fat ***** with the ugly *** hat? She has some game, but is the poster child for why golfers aren't athletes.

kinda like Prince Fielder. yeah i agree...a fat person clearly negates all others from also being athletes. how bout Grady Jackson or Ted Washington?...their fat asses totally negate all other football players from being athletes too.

little over the top on my part, yeah. but there could be poster children for baseball and football too if we were to actually use your thinking.

I play golf. I'm a 6 handicap. And I'm not what you would consider to be athletically gifted.

not to be too much of a dick here, but a 6 handicap in no way compares to a professional golfer. perhaps your lack of athleticism is the difference between being a 6 handicap and a scratch golfer or even a +2 golfer?
really, that sounds harsh, but im not trying to be a dick here, im just saying in the grand scheme of things, a 6 handicap isnt even in the same city much less the same ballpark as a pro golfer...so you really cant use your own athleticism(or lackthereof) to determine if they are or arent athletic.

by the way, congrats on the 6. it might not sound like im serious after that previous rant, but really, that is impressive for anyone that has to work and be all adult like.
