Freeze didn't have any call on this. There were conflicting reports, even with people saying that no one said anything anti-gay and the only thing was some rude laughing. It's looking more and more like the drama majors were, imagine this, overly dramatic about it. If you can't get the people accusing someone to spit out the same or a similar story, how can you punish those other people?
If you honestly believe this whole incident was just made up out of thin air by actors and the Daily Mississippian, you're a fool. If it honestly didn't happen, the players would have been all over the news for days denying it, but of course, no one did. Instead, they apologized to the actors.
There's a big difference between disrupting a play and disrupting a play while yelling gay slurs. Both are wrong, but the latter much more so. Did the players yell a gay slur? Apparently the evidence is far from clear. MSU fans will view it as yet another UM conspiracy/coverup while UM fans will view the initial report as ****** journalism (of which the DM has a long history). But neither of us know the truth and never will.
I stand by what I've said that this has been an embarrassment and that yelling a gay slur, if it happened, is disgusting behavior. But am I happy with the resolution? Absolutely. My frustration all along was with individuals acting like the behavior reported was not a big deal. Anyway, I'm ready to move on and play football.
You clearly don't know much about The Daily Mississippian.
You expect unidentified players to take to the Internet to identify themselves when no one has even been accused? Makes sense. If the athletic department had denied it immediately y'all would be bitching that they didn't even investigate. So the school investigated, then reported, which was appropriate. I realize y'all think it is impossible that the initial article may have been inaccurate, but that's too bad. As I said, I don't know the truth; neither do you.
Homosexual privilege activists have made Matthew Shepard a Saint and Martyr because he was "murdered by homophobes". Turns out, Shepard was murdered because a drug deal went bad....and one of his murderers was his homosexual lover.

I realize the unibrowed Neanderthals that attend Ole Miss didn't mock this play because of being informed about this latest revelation, but the whole play is a lie and I don't think the players should be punished.
Somehow disproving the case makes the actions excusable. (you know an issue is hot-button when MSU fans are excusing Ole Miss players for public displays of staggering assholery)
Maybe the player were just suggesting in not-appropriate-for-theater-settings that they would appreciate more background about the case.
Player 1: "ARE THERE ANY OTHER OPINIONS ABOUT THIS CASE NOT EXPRESSED IN THIS PLAY"
Player 2:" YES, I HAVE TO HEAR FROM AS MANY SIDES OF THIS AS POSSIBLE TO FORM AN EDUCATED OPINION ON THIS"
Player 3: "CERTAINLY ANYTHING LESS WOULD BE SELLING OURSELVES SHORT IN SUCH AN ESTEEMED ACADEMIC SETTING"
All players: "TRUUUUUUUUUUUUTH!"
Actor: "Are you booing, or saying 'truth?'"
And conveniently, in this day and age when probably 75% of college students carry a video camera hooked up to the internet with them at all times, there is somehow no video of the incident, YOU CAN'T PROVE THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN!!!!
Bracky Brett would have been requesting security video footage and satellite imagery to figure it out if we had that happen.OM handled it like a big boy SEC program. Something we can't do.
