I'm no attorney, but religious education is protected. His democrat constituents can tell you all about that as they were encouraged to loot, riot, and destroy all of our cities all summer long under that same amendment. So long as it's safe to have theaters, stadiums, and liquor stores open he'll have a hard time arguing otherwise.

How he sleeps at night is a different story.

If the world was a fair place, there would be a class action suit against the state of KY over an arbitrary taking of private property and the right to earn a living for thousands of people without just compensation, and the state would be forced to liquidate the teachers’ pension fund in order to settle with the plaintiffs.


Let the people who put Beshear in office and find the union that’s driving the shut downs suffer the consequences.

That’s correct. For what the suit is arguing, it’s pretty much irrelevant that the restrictions apply equally to secular schools. Religious schools are governed by a different standard than the public schools - the free exercise and establishment clauses of the First Amendment, specifically.

I read the complaint last night and believe it has a ton of merit. Really excited to see how the court resolves this. And it should happen quickly, given that the plaintiff has moved for a temporary restraining order. We will know soon.

You are right, it is not almost over and the left certainly does not want it over. And even if it was and disappeared by midnight the left would find something else to control our lives. The "virus" was an eye opener. They see how easy it was to manipulate lives of people with Democrat governors and now they are motivated to take the next step. Oregon is the perfect model of liberalism. Individual do not have rights in that state, it is all state controlled and the streets owned by BLM and Antifa.

I do feel sorry for Kentucky. I would imagine most of the citizens of the state are not reflective of the governor, the city of Louisville or the city of Lexington.. Most are freedom loving and individualist I would think and pray

I hope you are right. Andy was obviously emboldened by his ky supreme court win that we could see coming from a mile away. I'm afraid the crazy power he currently has in regard to public health crisis will win out.

Also glad this is not in state court. Ky supreme court loves lockdown and just yesterday shut the courts down again. No hearing, no public input, nothing. Just unilateral action. No jury trials till February. In case anyone has to wonder how they feel about lockdown....

Either way, come January it's fairly clear they're taking the keys and ending this destructive joyride. Hopefully these poor business owners can hold on that long

People like him pretend to be "for the little guy" and helping the helpless but he will cheer this economy right into the ground and just shrug his shoulders when people lose businesses they've built over decades or lose their homes. We were going to hire 3 new people and the new shutdown squashed that and they are talking about furloughing people again. These decisions don't happen in a vacuum but some people just can't see more than one data set.

Why didn’t Andy call a special legislative session for Covid? (I know the answer...) But if there was ever a time for a special session, wouldn’t a once in a lifetime pandemic that’s destroying the state financially be an appropriate time?

Did the state even get out all the employment checks from March? Are we still paying a private company millions to “help” with that mess?

I work in a restaurant and thought we'd get thru Thanksgiving before the ******** happened. Hours that are a year ago would be 1800 to 2000 dollar breakfast hours were 200 today.I have handle a kitchen thru this pandemic and I promise when you eat its safe.From fridge to plate, So the problem is from the front door to the table you mean to tell me people are risking thier lifes so much he trashed my store.

And the reason for that is because this is a political disease. It is sad but true. We have a political party who some in their party say they will not take a vaccine because it was developed in the Trump administration. One is the governor of the fourth largest state.

When I was a boy the polio vaccine was developed. No one said they were not going to take it because Dwight Eisenhower was president. The words out of the mouths of people like the governor of New York make it political. So yes there is going to be push back from the other side.

I’m sure being an island helps limit risk, but Australia implemented pretty strict lockdowns for last few months. It’s basically back to normal now. And their businesses are better off for it.
