Opie raising the birds was as good as it gets. Also the episode Andy dealt with Opie getting bullied was classic. Amazing how so many of those episodes still resonate today.

a classic show indeed. I loved watching them on TBS as a kid, and still love them today.

greatest show ever in my opinion.

Thelma Lou was awesome. Not a big fan of Helen Crump. Aunt Bee (it is not spelled Bea) drinking Colonel Harvey's Indian Elixir. Gomer, Goober, Opie, Ernest T. Bass, Briscoe Darling and the boys, Otis Campbell, and Floyd. Barney with his one bullet in his shirt pocket, the fun girls from Mt. Pilot (Skippy and Daphne), Leon (Ron Howard's little brother in real life) and Johnny Paul Jason.

I've seen every episode countless times.
