Dee, what are the chances we can see THIS Misssissippi State from this point forward?

What, you'd rather lose to Akron and have to answer what happened?

During the 2nd half of the game, Katz took a tour down memory lane and blamed the December in Hawaii disaster on scheduling around Dee's suspension. Now that was somewhat true, but Katz said he shouldn't have been eligible at all, and that Dee had feigned ignorance of the rules to regain his eligibility.

Then, after Dee is named player of the game, Katz asks three really snide questions about the team's performance tonite vs last year, vs last week, and whether or not he thought the team was better with Sid in the lineup. Dee just answered about working hard and executing.

Katz may have sounded like he belongs in one of our SPS ***** sessions, but 17~! This is an internet message board, and THAT was a national TV audience in MSG for Petes sake.

For his performance below and beyond the call of duty, I hereby nominate him for the 2011 DDDY Award.

Well the December scheduling was done because of Dee. He was the reason for it. His decisions caused the staff to feel it necessary to make that terrible schedule.
Katz is hardly off the mark with that analysis.

And according to the NCAA rules on declaring for the NBA draft, Bost turned pro and by the letter of the law he shouldn't have been eligible.
Katz is again hardly off the mark with that analysis.

Bost did claim ignorance in order to get his eligibility back. That was after he said he was all in and planning to stay in. He took a chance and surprisingly the NCAA took pity on his dumb *** decision and let him back in.
Katz absolutely isn't off the mark with that analysis.

Go cry some more.

Screw the damn national media. Dee is right. All those bastards are waiting for us to fail or implode. It would be really sweet for Stans, Sid, and Dee to bust all their balls and take this team to the final 4 or something. Not saying they will, but 17 all those ESPN pricks! Damn, I feel better

The dude Katz was talking about was the player of the game tonight.
The issue, which you claim is in the past, has current implications. That should be obvious since the guy scored 20 tonight.

My only thought was that Dee is not much of an interview. Some of you guys can create something out of nothing. The Shaq question to Lew was kinda classless, though.

Was it recently? Was it in the future? Hell no, it was in the past! Yes, Dee was the player of the game from the present as in tonight in THIS season of MSU basketball. And Katz' questions were mostly leading to **** from the past! I don't care if you agree with me or don't. The national media is craving for this team to fail. And so are a bunch of folks here it seems. Even Katz' questions to Stans at half were leading questions. And Hell, Andy Katz is one of the few that have had good things to say about us lately.

If Katz had talked about Sharpe missing practice, getting voted off the team, then getting shot- that would be bringing up a less than great moment of recent MSU basketball which is in the past and therefore has dick to do with the current team and/or game.

Katz talking about why our starting PG is even still playing is not the past. It's the present because it presently affects the game he is working at.
Yes, I get that it happened a year and a half ago and that since it happened, it is part or the past. But the I fo is still relevant and the story currently affects MSU and affected that game. So the issue is relevant and therefore is not yet in MSU's past.

Bost declared for the draft sometime in the early spring of '10. I would guess midApril. The fight was Thanksgivingish of '10. Just some general dates since you apparently didn't know.

I thought Katz was fine on this stuff. What I didn't like was all of the time spent talking about Lavin and about Parkinson's. I turn on the game to see the game. Missed a few great plays while this stuff was going on and on.

and don't blame him one bit for the questions he asked. He is a good jounalist and he knows his ****. That's why he asked what he asked. People think the media is out to get our basketball team. Stansbury brings the negativity to himself. Katz is one of the best in the biz and people can't wait to talk bad about people at ESPN. Katz is one of the most honest guys they have. The questions he asked were perfect and he is right, Dee should have never been eligible. He knew the rule and was being stubborn because things on the MSU team were not good at the time and he didn't know what to do. He realized that he should have stayed and it was too late. But he got away with it and I am glad he did.

His question to Stans was, "How can you guys expand this lead in the second half?" That isn't a leading question, that isn't a dick question to ask, that is a normal halftime question. If we were losing it would have been, "What can you guys do to cut into this lead they have in the second half?" The problem was Stans answer. "I'd be happy to just keep this lead." Really? That explains why if we have more than a 5 point lead with 5 minutes left, we constantly hold the ball to the end of the shot clock and throw up a 3. And while I'm happy we won, he still is a terrible coach. We made shots last night which covers up the glaring issues we have at head coach. We played with more effort, which I can commend him for, but our offense only looked decent because we were making 3's. I hope this team does live up to its potential, but I'm not willing to believe it just yet.<div>
</div><div>As for the questions for Dee, I have to agree with someone else who said it just came off as Dee is terrible at interviews. "How has having Sidney back in the line up help? We just gotta work hard and take it a game at a time." Just seemed like either a really bad answer, or just avoiding the question. And yes, those things happened last year, but they all deal with players that are currently on our team. I mean I'm not a Katz fan really, but nothing he did last night or said about our team was out of line. And honestly, you think "the national media is craving for this team to fail". The national media cares very very little about MSU basketball. And why should they? For the past decade we have been a mediocre team in a mediocre basketball conference.</div>
