I got a few questions....

How does it cost nearly $140,000 for boys' and girls cross country?

How does it cost $192,000 for speech?

The 4th most profitable enterprise? Cheerleading

There are definitely some crazy expenses for some of these events. I don't get it either.

Cheerleading charges admission and their sectional and state events are packed. Cross country has three rounds of state series and no money is made on admission. For cross you have to pay for timing systems, course rental in most cases and officials. With no revenue coming in that adds up over 3 weeks.

I believe it. Those cheer competitions are some huge events.

It is easy to be ignorant about a sport and the expenses when you don't follow them. I had no idea Cheerleading was 4th most profitable.

For the outlay, Bass Fishing is rather profitable!

Based on these numbers, no one really cares about Boys Volleyball, but they do about girls. The opposite for hoops.

there is revenue...about $25. Still a loss of $120,000 for both sports. That's alot of timing equipment, course rental and officials.
