GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP) — Federal agents descended on the North Texas headquarters of television evangelist Benny Hinn and took boxes out of the offices.
The search began about 9 a.m. Wednesday at Hinn's headquarters in the Dallas-Fort Worth suburb of Grapevine, near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. According to Hinn's website, he was in Paris.
Lisa Slimak, spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney's office in Dallas, said she was unable to confirm or deny the existence of an investigation. A message sent to Bennie Hinn Ministries went unanswered.
Hinn was one of six television evangelists investigated by the Senate Finance Committee in 2007. Three years later, the six were cleared of any wrongdoing.

Did you know some of the people you listed there take no money from their churches or any other donated moneys? The make their money from books.
I dont know much about most of them. I am usually more concerned with their teaching and not their bank account. I am no fan of Osteen or Benny Hinn and not because either of them are wealthy.
Funny, had to share. I actually think Joel does some good for a lot of people, still don't think it's appropriate that he be so focused on wealth and possessions.

It could but most churches would struggle to pay a minister much from tithes and offerings. My pastor/uncle was never wealthy but he bought and managed a couple handfuls of rental properties in the Charleston area and that subsidized his income. Some write books or sell videos and get paid very well. I am sure there are some who get rich off the plate but if you look at most churches facilities it would be hard to see their ministers getting wealthy off the offering.
The only pastor I really knew well (actually how he lived his life) was always pretty much busy. Funerals, charities, hospital visits, visits with widows/widowers, he helped referee for pee wee football, and volunteered for other youth programs as well. I admired how much community meant to him, and that man had really no time for any other endeavors. Isn't that what pastors are supposed to be like. A constant fixture in the community, and always on hand to help? I don't mind if a pastor makes some money on the side, but I respect the calling a lot more if money is pretty far down on their list.
I agree but even if money is down the list they could still be well off. Not all ministers are the same either. Some are more hands on in the community and others are more theologian who spend time studying. There isnt a cookie cutter for how to minister to people. Ine of my good friends in HS is a missionary in Kenya. He is a good ventriloquist and early on in his time there his niche was to teach kids with his puppet and his act got the full attention of young Kenyans. Now he is more of a traditional minister. It takes all kinds.
