A 15-year-old boy was killed when he was struck in the head while playing a game of "dodging arrows" at a friend's house, and criminal charges could be possible, authorities said Monday.

Caleb Fairchild, an eighth-grader, was playing the bow-and-arrow game Saturday evening when he was hit by an arrow in in Chapmanville, about 45 miles south of Charleston, West Virginia State Police spokesman Lt. Michael Baylous said.

No parents were around when Caleb and two other kids were playing in a front yard, said State Police Sgt. C.R. Sutphin. The ages of the others involved weren't released but authorities said they were minors.

The motivation behind the game wasn't immediately clear.....

I saw the story on the local news yesterday evening. Really sad. I doubt charges will be filed. The other two boys were very shaken. A very sad case where stupidity kills.

A lot more people should play dodging arrows. Maybe we can start a league.

LOL..this thread is about to get really funny and we're all going to hell for it.

I'll start: They can do it instead of cornhole at Pitt Tailgates.

They could feature it on an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians

No, because that's moronic and could end in bodily harm. I've also never played Russian Roulette or tried to shoot the apple off of a friends head.

I've never heard of "stretch" and no, I never played mumblepeg.

I did play rugby ... that's the closest I ever got to doing something for fun that would cause injury.
That and jumping bikes off of homemade ramps. [banana]

Well that's nothing unless you were jumping a pit of rattle snakes off of the homemade ramps.

Both are knife games.
