I don't see the point in getting so upset at some of these stupid things he's doing. I certainly don't like his antics of late, but seriously, the ultimate goal is for someone new to take over the program, and that's going to happen. What Polk does from now until season end is really irrelevant. We all know the season is over.

You should want to make your last stand as the coach a good one, but #1 has really been asking to get pelted by Bryan hotdogs and crackerjacks the way he has been acting.

Someone please PineTar his mouth shut!

I'm really getting concerned that there is something wrong with him. Ron is smarter than to say some of the things he's been saying lately.

But, my concern is that his crazy *** is going to attempt to hold the AD hostage in some manner in order to get Raffo into the head coaching job. Now, I feel very good about our new AD not letting that happen. But, just the risk of it bothers the hell out of me.

The guy has gone nuts.

He's coming unstuck in his old age, much like Trent Lott.

Coach Polk's had too many meals at the Starkville Cafe -- too many licks off the greasy spoon.

Coaches leaving under "good terms" yet disembowel the entire program of which they "built". Well, that's a real loose term.

look forward to reading the paper every morning because of him. He is kinda like that crazy uncle you have, your family laughs at all the crazy things he does because you know he is going home soon.

I'm sure they would tell the one man who controls their playing time if they didn't support him. Of course, they're a biased group to start with because all the good baseball players who wouldn't support him never signed with him in the first place.

that his son is more than ready for Polk to leave and that several of the players felt that way as well. The players really are getting sick of the losing and the way Polk is handling things. He didn't say they were tanking, they are actually trying to win, but MANY of them will be glad when a new coach is in charge. BTW, the players are not as supportive of Raffo as Polk believes.

This is NOT second hand info. I work with this players dad.

Alhough this is second hand information, a friend of mine knows Tyler Cleveland, Rick's son, and said that after the last game against USM Polk talked to Rick for a long time and told him that oviously this was the worst team he had ever coached and that the players don't listen to him and do the things required to be sucessful..not sure if this is true but found it interesting

that this is fundamentally the worst MSU baseball team I have ever seen. I'm not a real big fan of someone who yells all the time, but at the same time, sometimes, you have to do it every once in awhile to get your team to respond. So, Polk and his staff are obviously on the opposite side of that spectrum.

You can't be the players friends all the time. You have to assert control and that means pissing some people off from time to time, but if they want to play they are still going to have to perform. I think you just really have to know your players and what they will and won't respond to so that you can get the best out of them.

Considering what happened to Tyler when he went to Ole Miss, I would require a second opinion before quoting him as a source.

No offense, just saying.
