It’s on pope and his game preparation, we start every game the same way which is not aggressive on defense. Every team we play has 25-30 points by the halfway point of the first half. Have to start applying pressure early and force tempo.

I agree. The last few years of Cal were beyond bad. Almost like he was being stubborn and a dick to show Barnhardt who he despised. Factor in that with the suckage Arkansas started the season with last year and the folks on this board would have been up in arms. Kentucky needed a reset and so did Cal. But I stick by the fact Cal did so little with all the talent he had. Even worse than Dean Smith. Pope may not make it and I blame that on Mitch and not Pope.
Great job making adjustments by the players and coaches. But the 1st half starts has got to be fixed. Can't keep living like this, and win.

The same team from the area I live, where I went to graduate school, where my family went to college, the same place I’m a chapter that does way more for UK than you ever will.
Kentucky beat Tennessee today so I’m not as concerned for 1 day only because I hate Tennessee to extremes you probably wouldn’t understand. Anyone that deals with them on a constant basis wouldn’t even hate UL if they understood.
My main gripe again is that I don’t care about pulling some wins, losing some, being average or worse. Kentucky is supposed to beat Tennessee. We’re Kentucky.
The issue is Pope cannot recruit. He’s going to be average again and he’s setting some really bad milestones here. Beating someone isn’t the issue it’s winning consistently and being a blue blood. He probably can’t do that and you aren’t lowering standards.
If nothing else, beating UT consistently is a “at least we have that”. But beating tenneseee isn’t something that gives him job security. Get into final fours and be top 10 or leave. We weren’t BYU, finishing with 12+ losses every year isn’t something we can do here. You can say I told you so when he isn’t doing that. I’ve said repeatedly he’s going to win some games, that’s not the issue. You can talk when we’re at Kentucky standards. If he can’t then he’ll be replaced.

Be elite or go. This isn’t hard. Your gripe should be with the men who are destroying our place as a blue blood. Beating UT is always supposed to happen. Glad to win it, but you aren’t lowering the standards here. Won’t work.
Im hoping it’s something that will come to be a real story. It’s what we desperately need, a rise to a final four or elite 8. Still doesn’t answer how we recruit and where we go from here. And mark can’t have constant oh **** seasons we have to sustain. But this year at least put this together.
Aberdeen is the key to me. If he can turn out consistently with his potential it will light a fire under the rest. Jasper is turning into a sophomore as is MM. Just shorten the rotation and keep the right players on the floor. Pope must get out of his own way and throw the math out the door. Stop with the analytics. They’re not working.
