Since we seem to be on the subject of restaurants, food, etc, any old-timers (early to mid 1970's)remember the Cross Roads and the veal cutlets and fried pickles at Len-Lews? Or, coming back from the 'Roads and stopping at Sarge's for burgers and fries? Great food, or at least I remember it being great.

About that time there was a produce stand on S.W. corner of the Crossroads that had big glass gallon jugs of old fashioned apple cider lined up out front. You could go inside and tell a certain guy you wanted a gallon of his "sweet cider " and he would go in back of the place and bring you one of those glass jugs full of fresh made hi octane 'shine in a paper bag. On Sunday afternoons it was packed along with the BP station across the street. Rumor was it was Mac from Mac's Super Club supplying the shine. I can still hear Mac singing about "Roberta, Roberta"
