Eddie Gran.

He will be a fantastic head coach.
I get a vibe about him that he would be. My hope is that our current coach gets things right. If not, if is he fired at the end of this year or next, I can't imagine UK going to another person from that staff. But, if he was ever fired in mid-season, and if Gran is named interim coach, and if Gran did well, I think he has to be considered.

If Houston guy keeps playing like they have been they may well supplant the B12 winner into a final 4 spot this season, in advance of joining the B12 next year. Now there would be some irony. I think the odds of the Houston guy to UK wouldn't be much better than the Alabama guy or the Ohio State guy.

Sonny Dykes was being considered for the job when Stoops got hired and look what he has done at Cal. Dykes was ranked as the 44th best coach in the country compared to Stoops 83rd. I wonder why we don't go after Mike Leach? Hes ranked 26th best coach in the country and has UK ties. Could we get him?

Whatever, I refuse to give up hope. Guess Neal Brown will be a longshot also. Bill Curry left Alabama and came here, Houston guy is not that big a name.

Two wins as a HEAD COACH and we are ready to make him Nick Saban. Slow your roll and let him win something FIRST. How many times have we watched hot shot coach win a couple games, gets rocket shipped to the best coach available tag, and then fall flat on his *** when he gets in over his head ?? He has not won **** yet, oh he beat Oklahoma and FSU, guess the Cowboys should call him and fire Garrett, I mean he is right there in Texas.

Do you have ESPN?

The guy will have his pick of schools and if Houston is accepted in a P5 he has a huge contract.

What is wrong with you people?

Coach in Texas recruiting hot bed with a top 5 team will not come to this grave yard.

As of today, this job is for coordinaters, small school HCs, former P5 coaches who had success but then lost it due to poor seasons or scandal.

That's it.

Name one coach who succeeded here to retirement?

Name one coach who left here to a big time job?

The lack of knowledge regarding Curry's situation is telling.

By the way how did that turn out? Bama was right on the money.

Mitch wanted nothing to do with any Mumme staff.

That's why Guy left, couldn't get a raise for assistants (dead last in the SEC by a mile) from Mitch after taking a 2-10 team to 7-5 the very next season, including LSU heartbreak. (Quentus Cumby....)

Damn, I thought "Houston guy" would be a dead give away, especially after the 3rd or 4th time, guess not.

Some of you reply to react and argue rather than read what was said. Go back and read my original post, re-read it, I was not serious.

Houston guy WOULD consider us, he is just a couple bad losses from being chopped down a bit in the coaching tree. You act like UK is New Mexico State or something, I know fans are upset, but come on, We Are UK.
AND??? What have we done/achieved in football?

You have to get better with the sarcasm, many of us are just not that bright...

This may have more weight to it than you think. Eddie Gran is already on staff and if Stoops is removed before the end of the season then I'm certain Gran would be promoted in the interim and if the team improves play during his tenure then I could totally see MB offering Gran the job. That would likely move Hinshaw into the OC job and then Gran could go out and hire a DC to actually come in and put together an SEC caliber defense.

I could see MB doing it just because he doesnt want to pay EG the 3 year buyout.
