This team has Sooooo much talent, even Stans can't screw it up...
How bad is that Akron loss, hopefully it won't matter come March....
Deville needs to be starting a few games instead of Bryant, but Bryant has been playing well so far...
We should finish in the top 3 of the SEC this year and might be ranked come next week...

Great Win, the future is bright on the hardwood in S-Vegas.....

. . . Akron is currently #4. They surely won't stay there, but our wins over #16 and #18 will actually help their RPI, too.

teams. They are talented enough and what they might lack in talent, they make up for in coaching.

We proved that we can play together and that DEFENSE is the key to winning big games.

Guess who taught us that lesson?

The MSU team I watched against Akron looked totally lost. The offense consisted of just one person attacking the basket while everyone else stood around, and there was no defense to speak of. I was totally depressed watching that game, and I would have been depressed even if we had won.

I am encouraged by what I saw the last couple of nights. Looked like some of the good Stansbury teams from the past (I know, that's a backhanded compliment). Good defense, rebounding, timely 3's, an offense that looked to throw the ball down low first.....the team has some real potential.

Left-handed compliment to our team for just winning a tourney.
Victory overcoming coaching. Is that it with you and 34?

Yes.

No way to sugar coat it, that was a bad loss. But with 2 wins over ranked teams, we're back in good shape RPI-wise. If we take care of business from here on out, that loss won't hurt us.

something we couldn't do against them. And also maybe they didn't turn the ball over 19 times like we did.

Mucho talented! In years past we would have almost won these games. Hopefully the corner is turned and we will start seeing some success. We now have the depth to compete with some of the big guys. Wooly? You bet.</p>

1. We beat two ranked teams in MSG. Those are the kind of wins that help you in March, and we need both of those teams to have successful seasons from this point forward. Our team needed those wins to establish some confidence. They did not look like a confident team against Akron. They played two complete basketball games this week, and hopefully that confidence will continue into next week.

2. Next week, we play three home games. We have an opportunity to move to 7-1 on the season. We could could go into that West Virginia game sitting at 7-1 and playing on national television in the SEC/Big East Challenge. That will be another showcase type game. It will be great to have a meaningful home game in December.

3. I think B. Bryant should continue to start over D. Smith. I think the energy that Smith brings off the bench is need. Bryant has been playing solid basketball, and he plays some great defense. I like rotation of Bost, Bryant, Steele and Smith. As long as Smith gets the right number of minutes, I am fine with leaving Bryant in the starting lineup.

The potential is obviously there for a good basketball season. Staying healthy is a must.

Maybe.....this team likes the lime light. MSG....NYC....ESPN National TV.....

Against Akron, how many "fans" did the Dogs play in front of? 4500? 5500?

And now they are coming home to play "home games during Thanksgiving week and then 2 weeks later with no students on campus.... Maybe Stricklin should flip the turnstiles off and let some folks in to have close to full houses during those games. Or at least sell some reduced price tickets to the locals from the Golden Triangle to make it look full.

Just a thought from my head.... But had you asked it would not be worth much more than a penny anyway.

I know ... i know... There are a few "free" ticket exchanges online but most people don't use them. Can the University not come up with a way to sell these unused season tickets to people who are looking to come to single games? Maybe they already do and I just don't know about it. This would help us out tremendously for the games around the holidays when the students are not in town. <div>
</div><div>Some people are not OK with selling their ticket to a stranger. I've met complete strangers to sell my ticket but some people are not comfortable with that. If the University did it, more tickets would get into the hands that are attached to asses in seats.</div>

You have lots of "elderly" Season Ticket holders who buy tickets (a) to support the program, and (2) to be able to pick and choose which games they want to attend but be guaranteed a good seat and a parking pass or who share them with family members but not to many of the non-conf. games.THOSE ticket holders are not interested in a "ticket exchange" or "having their seats resold". I have seen basektball fans come in 5 minutes into the game and leave with 15 minutes left.

Again....small fanbase within 30 miles is the issue. Frankly, we could take out some seats and add bigger seats with more leg room and take it back down to about 8500-9000 max and make it a tough ticket to get and then the coziness might make it more electric.

their inside guy wasnt too bad either.

And they ran a ball control offense and screened away from the ball so their shooters had open looks.

As good as we looked last night, we never screened away from the ball to get Hood open. Not once. If he was open, it was because he juked his man or he left him for a double team.
