Rutledge would have been better off wearing a glove on his foot, kicking them around as much as he did.... Pretty bad company to be compared to MR.

First, Cohen has proclaimed him one of collegiate baseball's best SS since he signed him and has not backed off that proclamation. At times he will make a MLB type play, or hit 2 bombs in a game to basically win it by himself (see Friday night UF game). But yet he has 15 errors, which is the most in the SEC by 4 errors. Guy for Vandy has 11. Before tonight, we were second in the conference in fielding % behind SC (.978 to .975). Ogden is fielding at 0.894 and batting 0.273. Only 3 other teams in the league have a player with double digit errors at this point in the season. He's just not getting it done, but I don't know that there are any feasible options at this stage of the season.

Aside from the one he let through the wickets tonight, I can't remember the last time he had an E that wasn't pulling Ryan Collins into right field. And what really gets me, is that it's not like he's doing these on bang bang plays. He just rushes things, and has one of the most janked up releases for a shortstop.

He made a great play on the ball that just got past Girodo. He charged, got it on an in between hop, then off balanced threw it right on line to get the runner at 1st. Then 2 batters later, he gets a routine grounder right at him, and he drags Norris off the bag with a terrible throw. I don't get it.

He has a good arm, but his accuracy blows. He comes completely sidearm when going to 1st, and he has to cut that out. He needs to raise his arm slot and come at it three quarters because he always holds on too long and drags whoever is playing 1st base off to the outfield side of the bag. Coming up a little higher will at least give the 1st baseman a chance to get it on a bounce because the ball will be going more north south than east west, which his throws currently do.

Simply because at least Ogden occasionally makes great plays and he is a better hitter than Rutledge.

Like I've said, in general, I think he tries to do too much sometimes, and what happens is he rushes, he doesn't get his feet set, and he takes chances that he really shouldn't.

that he could hit him like 100 ground balls in practice, and he wouldn't make a mistake. So, it's hard to work on whatever it is that's wrong.

Every time i've seen him throw it into the locker room, he looked like a jr high kid out there goofing off with his buddies. If he catches the ball running forward, he never sets his feet. He just immeditaly whips it over with some sort of side arm delivery.

He never misses low, either. When you miss low, you still have a chance. When you consistenly throw it 5 feet over your 1st baseman, there's no chance.
