maybe it's the State fan in me but it just seems too good to be true. It's one of our long standing traditions to not have good QB's.
After ringing the cowbell and hugging the coach, it seemed to be the next step in the progression.
Isn't that Momma Dixon right in front of him in the 2nd picture, bottom right?, I'll try and ask my sister about the Itawamba guy, she is an 8th grader on their HS tennis team, she probably knows.
I just read Robertson's bones for tonight, and he said that alot of schools are starting to show interest in Cam. He's usually over optimistic about our chances with recruits, and his hesitance to call Cam a lock for us kind of worries me. Maybe just a Murphy's law kind of pessimism on my part.
but I just can't see a national recruit like this call a press conference and then pull the Mississippi State hat out of the bag.
Relf will be one year better, and we will have Tyler and Stegall or whatever his name is. I already feel better about our QB situation now that Lee won't be in there for Mullen to even think about putting in. Thing is, without Cam, who can run and pass, I think we will have to use the 2 QB system again. Hopefully Relf will improve his passing, but he will be in mainly to run, and Tyler will be in there to pass. Tyler could run the option a little, but he has to get stronger, and I don't think he's any faster than Lee.
As a preventative measure against blue chip balls, remember that dontae jones verbally committed to something like six schools. I think the standard line was someething along the lines of he loved campus, loved the people, and couldn't wait to come play there. Don't know how that's relevant, just seems like ringing the cowbell and hugging his previous coach is getting everybody (including me) a little too excited. I'm going to go take another cold shower and convince myself that I'm really, really stoked to see what a redshirt freshman can do next year at qb.saddawg said:
of the three pictures Ive seen of Cam, he doesnt appear to be "posing" in any of them....to me he looks to be watching the game and genuinely cheering for MSU. That to me is a promising sign.
it was a fun game for any football fan, and it's fun to ring a cowbell. I would love to have Cam here but he just seems like a guy that is going to enjoy just about any fun situation. I wouldn't read too much in to his visit. What we got going for us is the ability to start, his old OC, he liked MSU coming out of High School, and every game we play is on TV. For some reason I'm not worried about K-State, they seem to be the only ones talking about K-State because neither Cam or his dad has mentioned them in a month. OU and UNC are a different matter. My UT contact is telling me they are out of the running, I'm not sure why. My take: anything can happen, don't expect to get him then you can only be pleasantly surprised.STATEgrad04 said:

I know he wants to play in a pro style offense, but I hope he understands that if he can show that he is mobile, that is attractive to NFL teams as well. And if I was Dan Mullen, I wouldn't have a big problem drawing up a few pro-style plays to get him.
But that said, I really think that he goes to MSU. I heard that he did pretty much the same thing out of high school, and he went to Florida like everyone thought.
I know he wants to play in a pro style offense, but I hope he understands that if he can show that he is mobile, that is attractive to NFL teams as well. And if I was Dan Mullen, I wouldn't have a big problem drawing up a few pro-style plays to get him.
