dual threat @ 65% pass completion ... I think Dan must have been reading the pack lately

Got a couple good offers there with Kstate and Nebraska. Seems like he would fit Mullens offense. Im wondering if Nebraska and Kstate was wanting him to play another position and Southern was going to give him a look a qb. In the position we are in Mississippi State needs to allow him to play qb.

Heres a clip of him. Kind of long, but gives you an idea. Big, strong, physical kid. I am not sure how to judge his throw, every receiver is wide open it seems.

Yeah, it does. I like the idea of Mullen working with this type of qb, compared to a traditional drop back passer. He showed what he could do with Relf. I would like to see a kid like this, play behind Dak, develope, and possible contribute for us down the road.

I agree. We don't need a drop back pro type passer in Mullen's style offense. I think that is pretty evident. This guy seems much more preferable.

He has an arm. The throw he made on the run from his 32 to their 23 was outstanding.

This video is the antithesis is what I'm saying. With a QB like this you don't need great WRs or even a QB that can read coverages well. They're normally so open after the PA fake they don't even need great separational speed just good fakes. I like this kid and after seeing the Greenlee kid I actually like him better than Dobbs. I think O'korn is better than this kid at their stages in their career now. But this kid looks like Anthony Alford. Hope they both come!

I wonder how are staff will handle 2 qbs being on the same visit. I'm sure the staff will downplay Cord, and say he is going pro (whether they think he is or not) and tell the recruits that they will have a chance to be the starter in a few years. How will they handle telling both kids this, knowing that both recruits know they were very far down on our pecking order.

I think it's fairly obvious Williams will be the guy. Fat chance that a California guy comes to Mississippi.

Problem is, both of these guys are committed to other schools, and it doesn't appear we do too well in trying to convert other commits to us.

Didn't I read where Mullen comes off as an ******* to QBs? Tebow said it I think. Something like, he's got to find 'his' guy, and once he does, he works wonders with him.

I can easily see that. Guys like Okorn and Dobbs dont want to hear "you will have to come here and compete for the job like everyone else" when they are being told by other place like Houston, that they will be the guy more than likely.

Not impossible. Didn't we have a player from Calif this past season? And Sidney was from Los Angeles (perhaps originally from Miss. though).

Who was the Juco QB that Croom brought in that got a DUI and then tore his knee up. He was from Cali.

If I was Mullen I'd cool it with taking responsibility for Tebow. His passes look like onside kicks. This kid looks like he can actually throw without that weird windup that adds 2 seconds to the release.

Yes, definitely run from being the architect of a Heisman winner....

..& a QB that lead his team to a NC. I understand sports messageboards are not the place to expect a high level of intelligence, but saying Mullen should shy away from mentioning Tim Tebow because Tebow can't throw a proper NFL spiral is taking it to another level.
