Our plan B in case Dak decided to switch to LSU or Prescott's Dad decided to shop him around.

I would be surprised if we take him.

on TV. The description of him is spot on.He has done well in a pretty tough league. His team is really good. That would be a pretty good league to get an foot hold in too. He would do well under Dan Mullen I think. He is taylor made for our offense.

So far he's done that. Tyler Russell, Dylan Favre, and now Prescott. Favre may not be the QB everyone wishes in terms of height and size, but the guy was the states Parade All American, so we take him if we can. I trust Dan can get one good QB every year, so I'm not too worried about how we get our QB's. I just want to make sure we get guys that are competent enough to handle the job.

We don't need a superstar at QB.We've always had a good run game, and we are getting better weapons at the skill positions. We need someone that can besomewhat of athreat to run, not to make dumb throws, and is mentally aware enough to check out of bad plays. We haven't had that, and I'm sure it will take a ton of pressure off Mullen if he could sign a QB that he could hand the offense over to without having to worry about how they will perform. We get a talented, smart QB in here that can run Mullen's offense, and we will see great things. I sure hope Prescott is that guy, because MSU has been hurting for a good QB for a long time.

is that if they can't win the QB job, they might be able to contribute at another position...even Favre might play safety at some point.

is that it's because he isn't a prototypical "pro" QB. But I don't give a rats *** about the pros, I want to win the SEC. If the guy can play college ball, and by all accounts of what happened today he can, then put his 5'11" *** on the field.

One more thing on Favre: He's a cocky son of a gun, and he doesn't hide it. He might be only 5-foot-11, but he acts like he's 6-6.

That qb from California, Eubank, is a beast. I live on the West Coast and work at UW. I actually met him when he was visiting the Huskies. He apparently is a lot faster than most people realize. I 6'5" qb that has wheels would be a great sign. I would probably put him ahead of Dak.

Favre isn't 5'9''. I met him at a party one time and talked to him for at least 5 minutes and I'm 6' on the dot and he was my height, or less than an inch off. That was with his Fubu jeans and Roco shirt on so who knows, he might have been leaning.

He's 5'9" maybe and throws with a severe side arm...just like his uncle. He's a true "gunslinger" in that he just slings the ball up there. Unless Dan and co. have completely revamped his motion and put him in pumps, he's too short for the SEC. And if he starts and wins at MSU, I'll gladly eat my words.

He's not 5'9''. I remember being around him in high school and he wasn't 5'9'' his senior year. Unless he's got a medical condition causing him to shrink over a year, he's not 5'9''. Sidearmed, yes... but I'm not complaining if he gets the job done. His 4A state title performance where he rushed for 90 yards on 8 or 9 carries and threw the ball like no problem was in every sense of the word, incredible. Do I ever think he'll start? No. But there's a huge possibility he gets a considerable amount of playing time once Ralph leaves. And I have no problem with it.

I think a lot of people are still crying over the Tyson Lee years. While he was a great person, the kid never had a chance. He simply just wasn't good enough to play in the SEC, size or no size, so we can blame Croom for that one.

Manny and Mullen will tell you the kid has never had a ball batted down against our defensive line. In a shotgun, with our offensive line, he could be 5'11 with cleats on or 6'1''... it wouldn't make a difference.

Someone asked about the last decent short QB in the SEC, and unless you're a homer and refuse to admit it, Masoli would have done just fine in an offense that wasn't as conflicted as Ole Miss's. They ran a pro-style 2 weeks before he got there.

What do you base this on? I see these emphatic statements, with no explanation as to how you'd know that, and then I see others that have stood in front of him and gauged his height with their own that say he's 5' 11'. When I stood beside him, I judged him at least 5' 11" (I'm 5' 11", we were both in shoes, but I'd say he was slightly taller than me).

And from my personal experiences of passing the Tiny Touchdown Machine on campus, there's no way he's 5'11". Try 5'8" or 5'9".

It's fine to say you think that he'll beat the odds and be successful. But don't try to tell us he's really not that short. He is.

Edited for username fail in title.

It is still short. I know...I know..that what she said... Sub 6'0" is still too short regardless if its 5'8" or 5'9.5" or 5'10.99999"

**** if two inches make that much difference then they need to break out the mircometers.

I thought Mullen quoted something about 5'11" being very generious a couple of weeks ago.

We need pictures of Farve standing next to some other players inorder to get a true measurement./old debate...

Alright, so you knew him in high school. He's grown since then. I'm telling you, I was around him in high school (had some friends who went to high school with you too) too and he came to one of our parties in november and he was nearly my height. I know what 5'9'' looks like, and he wasn't 5'9''.

But this is a moot point, he'll never be a serious QB for Mississippi State. But I'm not going to go into freak out mode if he does, I trust Mullen. Look what he did with Ralph. That was a miracle in itself.
