state college hasn’t had great food of any kind since I started attending in 05.

State College is never going to have the quality of food scene as a city. However, it has increased dramatically since I came to town in 1990. I remember when the first Taco Bell opened, there were lines out the door for about two weeks. Not that anyone believed it was good food, but because it was so different when everything else in town was pizza/hoagie/burger joints.

Head outside of Dwntwn SC for great food... Gamble Miil in Bellefonte, Pine Grove Hall, ReFarm Cafe, GiGi’s, Overlook Grille, Hummingbird, Hublersburg Inn, Boalsburg, etc... it’s there and getting better. SC is for college kids except for the Tavern and Corner Room.

As far as the apparent reduction in hotel rooms, does any of that have to do with AirBnB, VRBO or similar choices? Thereby reducing the need for an actual hotel for people to stay?
Definitely on big weekends but the area needs weekday business in order to survive. That’s conference business. Taking away full service hotels is not a good sign. It will come. If not, limited service props will flourish just for the weekends.

I only ate there once. Easily the worst meal I’ve ever had, never went back. Maybe I caught them on a bad day.

I've never been in SC since I had decent money. It would be weird to walk around and buy whatever I want.

Is Lee’s still around? I was a broke college kid and a Lee’s hoagie was a real treat. Took like an hour and a half for delivery, but worth the wait.

I feel like I'm the only person who didn't care for Mad Mex.

Regardless, @razpsu, it's unfortunate that the space is going to another chain. IMO it is the last thing State College needs as I am still mourning the losses of My My Chicken and Herwigs.

It is amazing. I keep looking though.
