yet another elite all star game with multiple top UK commits. I am sick of it. I have OAD fatigue!!! Why can’t we be more like IU and UL and not have to worry about top players coming to respective programs? Being a top team annually is truly wearing me down.

Nice. But, a serious question related to the game today for those of you in the know: Based on past history with the JB game, will the announcers actually discuss the game going on in front of them and kind of confine (mostly) their discussions of players to times those players are actually on the floor?

The McDonald's game is basically unwatchable for me. And it's not because they talked about Duke, etc. It was just the complete lack of any semblance of play-byplay or discussion of what was going on in the game. I mean, the teams could score 20 points in that game before the announcers even acknowledged a game was going on.

Billy in the huddle, even slightly buzzed, was a master at X’s and O’s.

“Here we go. You throw it in to Jodie. Then you four run down to the end and stand near the base line just outside the paint. When Jodie shoots then crash the boards for any missed shots and get it back to him for another look. Ready, team!!!

Honestly I think the people they have doing the game can't keep up and identify the players in game real time. They have to do what they do because they would sound incompetent if they tried to call the game in the usual way

I see. You're saying the network wants it that way, which I would have to assume is due to their thought that this makes the game more interesting to the non-basketball bennies. If so, perhaps they're right - after all, I guess they put a lot of resources into figuring out what the viewing public likes.

Too bad for me, I suppose. Just disappointing, because I would really like to enjoy the game; but it's hard for me to do so in that format. If this JB game is announced like the McDonald's game, I'm going to try turning the sound off and watching it.

On a side note, the Corbin cheerleading team is on espn2 at 2:00 going for their 2nd national championship in 3 years. Pretty impressive for a little town in Appalachia.
I've always thought it interesting how a state like ours became such a hotbed for cheerleading.

-UK dominates the UCA division with 23 National titles
-UL has traditionally been the equivalent dominant force in the NCA division (more dance cheer)
-Morehead State consistently wins the All Girl and Coed Nation Title at their smaller division
-KY high schools such as George Rogers Clark, Bowling Green, Pikeville, Corbin etc etc are consistently winning at nationals. I watched all of HS nationals 7 or so years ago bc I was seeing a girl competing and it blew my mind how every division had a KY team place top 3.

Obviously I don't know why they do it do it but just about every high school all-star game is done(called/not called) the same way.It makes it tough to watch because we haven't seen the players enough to identify them by sight. The networks surely know this or should have learned it over time, yet they continue to do the same thing over and over.I would think that it wouldn't be rocket science for a network to conclude that viewers would prefer to hear about what they are watching on the screen as opposed to something more or less unrelated.

If Cawood was still around and had a day or two to memorize the players numbers he could have called the game, the guys they have I'm not sure that is the case that is my point,I don't think they can, they aren't play by play guys.

I'm not sure folks realize what they're asking for when they want play by play of these games.

Do it yourself from your couch and just make up the names and see how quickly you get tired of that. It's one of about four outcomes over and over and over.

The interest is in discussing the players, where they're going, etc. No one needs play by play of cherry picking and uncontested drives.

These are exhibition games. The action/result doesn't really matter. There's no play by play at Madness either for the same reason. It's why they interview Cal the whole time.

Nah, we should let the uneducated Billy Bob's who post here and know it all coach. We'd be undefeated with a team full of "Kentucky boys" and 4 year non OAD's who shoot the 3 like Villanova.

UK has averaged 2 tournament wins over the last 3 years. UK has defeated a 12 seed, two 13 seeds, a 15 seed, a 10 seed, and a 3 seed. UK has lost to a 1 seed, a 5 seed and a 9 seed. Better shooting is a must. Required.

Yup, for the most part you cant really take anything from these games. I saw a Derby Classic where Shagari dominated and won MVP while Francisco Garcia looked so bad we were literally laughing at him. Shagari went on to be Shagari while Francisco Garcia went on to be an All American and 1st round pick in the NBA.

Cal already started recruiting shooters. We had Knox last year who was one of the better shooters, Jemarl Baker who is known as a shooter, and Quade Green at PG is a good shooter. Adding to that, he added Quickly and Herro in this class. Cal isn't a dumb man.

Shooting is definitely important but it doesnt guarantee you anything. We had a backcourt of Ulis and Murray and they won 1 NCAA tournament game. Shooting is just 1 of many factors that go into winning, let's not oversimplify this.

UK is 1 and 3 versus single digit seeds over the last three years. The lone victory over a Steve Alford coached team. One loss to a bad shooting Bruce Weber coached K ST squad and another loss to Tom Crean and IU. That should knock the cockiness out of all but the stupid.

Murray was streaky. Can't have one shooter.

There should be some happy middle ground. Or maybe the graphic/stats guy could update points, rebounds, and assists more often.

Ughhh your one of those who go way one way. And miss the point completely. If you can't see over the past 8 years that we had guys leave. Who shouldn't had or could of came back and bettered their draft position. Then your blind. Had players came back who should of and could have. UK would of hung at least 1 more banner. Bam came out just this week saying Cal ripped up his scholly. Said go take care of your family. Bam was drafted. But Bam was one of many players who could of came back for another year and bettered his position. And UK would of gotten a return. But our coach Dosent put UK first. Sorry he just dosent. And dosent hide it. So if a kid comes from a poor family. Cal feels the obligation to make them rich as fast as possible. OK..well Knox already came from a wealthy family. At 18 years old. He definitely could use another year. I'm curious how many players has Cal ripped up their scholly and pushed out the door ? Sorry guys. This OND no matter if your ready or not. Is wearing thin. Hell the Harrison twins could of bettered both of their positions. Why leave ? Is it Cal trying to make room for the next millionaire he can take credit for making ? Seriously starting to question Cals motives here. UK has missed out on a lot because Cal pushes guys out. Instead of convincing them to stay.

I have no idea who you are but can you tell us one non 1st Rounder Cal has pushed out not named Ulis?
