Another thing I've noticed

is Elliot does not really look for the hole. He is just sort of grabbing the ball and running with his head down. He's missing some running lanes that he would have seen had his head been up.

I thought he did a great job. There were several times he was handed the ball on a play designed to go off right tackle but saw a hole open to the left and shifted. Those plays got us at least 6 yards each time. In fact most of my friends after watching the replay commented on how much better he was doing at seeing the field and making adjustments. Memphis sold out everything to stop the run (that film from last year kinda led them astray) so there weren't a lot of gaps. Elliott is not a power runner so if there isn't somewhere to cut he's not going to move the pile a whole lot. I thought he did really well.

It looked to me like Memphis's approach was: "if you are going to beat us, you are going to do it through the air." And we did. I am not sure there is too terribly much to be learned about our running game.</p>

I too, thought Elliot was much improved. I am keenly aware that we do not have the one complete back with a combination of power and speed but the three that we do have are pretty darn good. Perkins is a home-run threat, Ballard is hard to tackle (even if he couldn't make the corner on a LB) and Elliot seems to have the better overall abilities. If you can't have Dixon then it is nice to have a three headed monster.

I was really impressed with our TE's as well!! They are good.
