One of the most underrated players ever at UK.

That said: "Stop dwelling over show is not here...?" I don't think Epps understands message boards and general fandom. That's what we do. We dwell. And then dwell some

Love Anthony Epps but if we would have had a whole team of Anthony Epps type players we wouldn’t have made the tournament in 96.

Sorry.

This is a truly ignorant post. Anybody that doesn't push the "complainer" narrative has their opinion dismissed. Sad stuff. Clown world. Sorry you had to see what Epps and many of us see.

That’s all well and good, but we still need a stud SF to be the starter. A guy who can shoot, slash, defend, AND rebound. Kam Williams ain’t it (and I like Kam).
If spot up 3pt. shooting is part of it, I feel good that K. Williams will have that in spades. He also could be ok in defending and rebounding the SF spot – maybe you have a different sense about these two aspects from what we saw last season, but I didn’t feel like he couldn’t defend or rebound the position. Now slashing was an issue. I didn’t see that in Williams, and he needs to improve that (starting with tighter ball-handling) to keep defenses more honest.

But the guy who might turn into the SF with all the aspects covered you mentioned is B. Hawthorne. Of course, we don’t know whether that develops or not. But not knowing has never stopped a ton of posters here from assuming an incoming freshmen would be the best player at his position in the SEC based on nothing but recruiting rankings of high school kids.

Now, I would never bet on a freshman, but Hawthorne is not really a freshman. I think he’ll need some time to get acclimated but Hawthorne has the advantage of having had a year to develop physically, he has the skills and measurables, and you have multiple guys who know basketball saying he looks the part – at least eventually. Again, I can’t say now whether or not Hawthorne will be a really good SF option next season, but I think there is enough evidence (more than in many past instances) to suggest he’s a better bet to be next season than any high school SF in the top recruiting rankings sans Tyran Stokes (and I’m guessing on Stokes too).

Bad A$$ Epps just told the ninnies how soft they were. Just sad that a stud player from the past has to tell a portion of the base that enough is enough like they are undisciplined little kids.
I guess ninnies don't like 12-14 losses...but Epps is cool with it. Good for him. I'll fan the way I want to fan.

Excpet...that post was accurate too. Surely Epps knew he needed Delk and Walker. Can't have a team full of Popes and Epps and be very good. We get the role players, just need a stud or two.

And keep in mind (all of you sky-is-falling supposed fans), much of this board would NOT have liked the addition of Epps at any point of his college career. Same for Sheppard (until after his SR year), Fitch was a 3* recruit, Estill & Daniels too, Harrelson came from DII, Liggins and Darius Miller were 3* or low 4* recruits.
Anthony Epps is taking up for a friend who is getting scrutinized by not just the fans, but the media for doing a poor job.

-Epps, Sheppard, Fitch, Estill, and Daniels all had several high school McDonald's All-Americans on their team and played for a proven HOF coach.

-Out of high school, Harrelson signed a LOI to play at Western Illinois (Division 1 school), but backed out because he thought the coach was leaving. That said, he was forced to go JuCo route.

-Per 24/7, Liggins was #33 in his class and Miller was #63. Where do you get those numbers?

The goal posts don't need to be moved.

Let's say your 100% right. Is sitting around saying "Pope sux" 1,000 different was every single day, hours a day, sane behavior? Emphatically, NO IT IS NOT.

If someone is urinating on my leg and I see them doing it, I'm not going to pretend like it's rain. I'm going to be very angry and pull my leg away.

I mean he is not wrong. Some UK BB fans are some of the WORST humans on the planet with some of the crap I see in here. Get behind the program, it's OK to question things you dont like or want to see improved, but when I see it for the 150th time from some of the same people, you either have an agenda, need to get out and touch grass or just STFU. You make UK look terrible like its your job. And it is OLD.

I’d rather we all complain so we can be great again in 2 years with a new coach than get behind this regime who will mire us into less than infinite mediocrity. If that is the choice.

And keep in mind (all of you sky-is-falling supposed fans), much of this board would NOT have liked the addition of Epps at any point of his college career. The difference is you have Pitino and he could coach anyone up. Also, fans were upset with the recruiting of Tubby which is one of the reasons fans were bashing him online during his time here.
Pope doesn’t have any of the coaching traits of Pitino or Tubby for that matter… he has trouble motivating players. Coaching at Kentucky is more than X and O’s and everyone knows this.

So stupid. It’s easier to get behind something when a HOFer is pulling the levers. Much less so when Pope is just hoping and praying to get anyone to commit.
