Why? He’s a good recruiter and out of all the Cal assistants he would’ve been the one to keep.
Parker said they’ve been playing phone tag and he associated OA with Kentucky

Maybe Cal’s act wore thin on O. I don’t think Cal listened to him or Chin tbh. I think O actually had a good relationship with Barnhart, unlike Cal. Maybe he isn’t in any hurry to leave Lexington. Maybe he actually cares about winning titles.
From what I’ve seen today, Antigua and his family love Lexington and they don’t want to move. At some point you are tired of jumping from jobs and want to stay in one place.
If he’s all in with Pope and how things are around here now, I’m good with it.
Why not maybe he can still pull a recruit from his bag of tricks , like back in the day when he was the Hurricane for Harlem Globetrotters.
I would like this hire.Pope can coach so I don't worry about that but recruiting is the question.It would seem to be the perfect fit because all we need from O is to recruit.

Also, when you cite info, you need to cite the source. Don't come running in here acting as if you have all these insider connections when you're just reading it everywhere else and then running to Rafters to be "FIRST" and appear like some kind of "yeah brah...I got the connections!"
I don't disagree about the last part but you and I both would recruit who we're told to recruit by the boss of the program.
At one point Parker was seen as an elite guy in the '23 class and then dropped a bit-but Alabama wanted him and as others have mentioned-he RS due to injuries/being banged up/chose the Portal due to what they have coming in (brought in 2 Portal wings already to go with Naas Cunningham/Derrion Reid/Aiden Sherrell)
I don’t think anybody knows. Was similarly ranked to Jordan Burks but didn’t play at all his freshman year due to injury/redshirt.
Not what I would go for as a depth piece, but due to no playing experience there is an unknown upside. Alabama recruited right over him for better or worse.

He's perfect type for Pope to have time to build relationship with because he'll be in NBA Draft/Portal and he can watch him at NBA Combine and recruit him. Late Bloomer due to growing his SR year-shot up 4/5 inches from Summer to HS season and is from Omaha, NE. Millard North HS.
