I'll be in the area on a hiking trip but was planning on going into Asheville to catch the game. Anybody going to be around that would want to watch or suggest a place?

I won't be around but two great options are Packs's Tavern or Asheville Brewing Company. Both are amazing. I would go with ABC and try their flight of beers while watching. Can't go wrong.

- Barley's Taproom
- Westville Pub in W. Asheville
- Either Jack of the Wood, or the Thirsty Monk (acorss the street from one another)

For what its worth, i'd avoid downtown. i barhopped last fall trying to find games and the best place i could find had three TVs but they were all smaller, older, tube TVs.

They are great bars with great beers but werent good for watching football

I live outside Asheville but work there. Where are you hiking? I may be in Asheville that day and could arrange a meeting!

Downtown can be hard if you're looking for something not on ESPN or ABC, etc and want BW3 style viewing. Wild Wing Café is where you should go if concerned about tv size/channel coverage, but want to be downtown for bar hopping after. Honestly, I'd rather bar hop in West Asheville than downtown, anyway.

I may or may not be in Asheville, (driving through from up in the mountains) so I may detour on our way back through if a watch party goes down.

I spent the weekend in the Bryson City area and watched the UAB game at Nantahala Brewing Company. Awesome place if anyone is ever in the area looking to watch football, drink beer, or both.

Bump from last week. I've been to the Monk before and love their beer selection. I haven't been to ABC but I don't think finding the game will be hard since it's a night game. I'm more than down for meeting up with people if there's any actual interest in that

I live just north of downtown and here's my take.

I'll be in the area on a hiking trip but was planning on going into Asheville to catch the game. Anybody going to be around that would want to watch or suggest a place?

Since the game is on ESPN Pack's Tavern (fwiw does not carry the SEC network) and Wild Wings would be the two best options. I would get to both, especially Wild Wings with plenty of time to grab a table. Barley's upstairs may have t.v.'s but it's not somewhere I'd go to watch college football, also avoid Jack of the Wood for games too. Maybe somebody knows something I don't though. I haven't heard of anyone going to watch a game at Westville or Thirsty Monk either. I know the Thirsty Monk in south Asheville has no t.v.'s.

Let us know where you're going and we can get a group up and have a High Country watch party. There was a group of us that met a few years ago at Pack's and had a good time. Ran into a bunch of alums, Phi Delts, that were watching also.
