Any chance Memphis could get in on hosting SEC basketball tourney?

That would put football on east side of footprint, basketball on west side, and baseball in the central part of the footprint. Just not sold on Nashville being the town.

Doubt it.

Clay Travis on twitter tonight says that Nashville is about to be the primary location for the SECT.

Any reason for abandoning NOLA? Other than the Blue Mist has further to drive?

I thought the tourney in NOLA was fun fun fun. Just like a baseball tourney in Memphis would be.

Probably cost. New Orleans Arena I would imagine would already be expensive to rent and replace signage for but now it's been renovated and will likely become even MORE expensive when it becomes the Capital One Arena (most likely partner to pay for naming rights).

On the other hand, I'm sure Nashville is pulling out all the stops to get the SEC to host there permanently. NOLA has the national championship and 100 other things going on so I'm sure keeping the SEC tourny isn't a huge priority. Nashville doesn't have anything. I'm sure Atlanta was cut out just because of it being the football town and Atlanta sucking so bad.

It's college sports. Making events easier to go to for the majority of fans should be the SEC's priority, and I think the only way you can do that is moving around events. I hate that they have determined 3 cities for our tournaments and refuse to change them.

The football championship should be in New Orleans too.
