Sadly a lot of places don’t seem to do anything anymore. Hopefully that changes

My town still has a ceremony every year and work has a company-wide moment of silence every year.

Manalapan has a ceremony every year as does Monmouth County at the overlook from Mt. Mitchell in Highlands.

What is the email address of the AD If he gets a bunch of emails they can do something....

once again the CE mentality creeps on to this board, and another thread on a good topic get’s hijacked almost immediately.

a flyover would be great.
There's an ignore button. NYC is having a ceremony:

Don't see anything for the Giants game in terms of a ceremony prior to their Sep 10 game.

Don't see ANY type of event for 9/11 on the Rutgers University calendar

Mets are having a pre-game ceremony:

Yankees are in Boston, could not find any info on Yankees.

Glad that got deleted... so strange.. OP was clear so how could that have been a "hijack".. so weird... dude was hijacking the thread while complaining about it being hijacked.

We just had a flyover on the beach here in OC. Hopefully it’s a practice session for tomorrow. They never get old!!

Never underestimate RUs ability to f*** things up. Remember that we didn't play a game on the weekend of the 150th anniversary of the first college football game?
I would love for someday to ask in person Pat Hobbs about this. Clearly the asked the Big Ten for a bye week that week so they could schedule something, maybe it was going to be Princeton, how embarrassing that then they didn’t and we were left on the sidelines. Pathetic

My opinion is sure to be unpopular with many.

My office building was across the street from the WTC and badly damaged. It goes without saying that I knew a couple of people who died that day and many more who had harrowing stories and losses of their own (I was scared but never in actual harms way). It was eight months before we could return and I had to look out over the terrible remnants of the site and the new construction for years afterward.

There will be respectful and appropriate ceremonies on Monday in many places in the area and those among us who want to participate, can. I will. But for me, 22 years later, I don’t want to be reminded of that awful day every time I turn my head from now through Monday.

I’ve said this for many years on here…

Nothing would piss/annoy/anger those who did this more than while being respectful and remembering but also living your life.

It’s not a once a year thing for me, it’s every day - especially when I see my younger boy (now a junior in college) who is named after two friends, but to a man I know my friends lost that day would say the same thing…remember me but live your life.

MNF in the shadows of where it happened, on the anniversary of the day it happened with a team from that City named the “Jets”…that’s a big middle finger to the bad guys IMO.😉

So, Saturday, September 9th at SHI stadium.

No mention of 9/11
No moment of silence
No scrolling of the names of the RU alumni who were murdered that day.

again.
