Any guesses as to VaTech -16.5 vs UNC?

I think VaTech will win easily, but dang those are a lot of points. Could easily be 24-10 VaTech and a loss giving the points. On the other hand, I'm not confident enough to take the points against VaTech at home.

i got -16 now.....power lines have va tech winning by 18.....funny stat about espn thurs night games, are that home teams cover 78% of the time, and that was about 5 weeks ago, and i think they are 4-1 since then....however, what scares me is the last 2 years the scores have been 20-17, and 17-10 va tech in both.....this is a coin flip in my opinion, and coin flip games are games to stay away from....i would like to here what others think

I like UNC to cover. Their offense might not score 10 points on VT, but UNC's defense is good enough to hold it to a 20-10, or 24-10 type game assuming there aren't any special teams TD's, blocked punts, pick 6's, ect...
VT isn't a good offensive team either, so the under may be the best bet.

That's a lot of assuming. VaTech always has a good special teams. So they could easily create a score off of a special teams play. With that said I would take va tech winning by 17 therefore covering.

and took UNC strait up. of course i only played 40$, for a possible 240$ win. i do think UNC has a shot. in their losses they havent closed games late. maybe they find a way tonight. im debating putting a few bucks for them to cover as well.

Bad things always happen to opposing teams in Blacksburg on Thursday nights. VT's defense and special teams will score a couple of times and the offense will have a big night.

Bank it.

I'm just saying that when you predict a game, you have to assume all things are going to be even. Yes there are going to be turnovers in every game, but if both teams have them in equal amounts, and all things being even, UNC should cover b/c their defense is good and will hold VT's offense down.
Now when one team gets lucky and gets a +2 or 4 in turnover ratio or actually scores on a special teams play, that throws the whole equation off.

I think they win 35-13. As for the trend for thursday night....Its home dogs that cover apx. 75% on ESPN thursday nights. This trend is not in play tonight.

I have already laid down on both of the last two. GT worries me though since the line opened up at 14 and promptly dropped to 12.5.
I have won the last 12 weekday bets I have taken, including MNF games. My last loss was on the USF/Cincy game a few weeks back. However, I have sucked royaly on Saturdays, so take my advice for what its worth. I am up on the year, but if I would only bet on weekday games, I would be up alot.

Yes I know....nothing is a lock

However, I really like these two...

Houston minus 7.5 over Sothern Miss
(Golden Eagles have lost all three true road games this year, including at Louisville and at UAB)

Georgia Tech minus 13 over Vanderbilt
(Ignore VU's near-miss against USC, the Commodores are horrible)</p>

I really like these two as well.
Vandy has zero offense, and even though their defense is good, playing GT is a different animal. No one can really stop them, I think Paul Johnson is a genius.
