Any guesses on the 4 schools the offensive coaches visited?

My hope is:

1. West Virginia (#3 rushing offense)
2. Tulsa (#1 total offense)
3. Houston (#25 passing, #10 rushing)
4. Texas Tech (why the hell not?)

...Lubbock is one place I never ever looked forward to visiting. LOL

I have heard West Virginia, but can't say about the other 3.

if they run the offense they ran at Clarkdale when I was there... Run first down, run second down, and run third down, and punt...

Fun times.

BTW, WVU will look exactly the same as they did last year, but I understand what you're saying. Actually, because Rich Rod doesn't have a Pat White at QB anymore, they may run the kind of balanced spread we will have to run with Carroll.

a spread offense is one that is a "spread" due to the formations you use. Your actual offensive philosophy can then be incorporated to those formations- be it mostly run, mostly pass, or balanced. Crooms could easily adopt his conservative run-based philosophy to the spread. I guess we will see if he learned anything by the time we get past Auburn

we can run two times up the middle and then throw an incompletion just as well from the spread as the WCO formations.

and I don't 17n understand the situation. Here we have a bunch of professional guys, making far more that most of us do, traveling around the country to find out how to do their jobs. They have game films out the wazoo, most have coached for years, they probably took college courses in coaching, and they still go off on a boondogle. What in the hell are they going to learn that they should not already know? Like, 2 up the middle, play action pass (incomplete) and punt won't work?

They must be bored.

I'm not complaining, it obviously is something we needed to do and hopefully it helps.

I think I am pretty good at my job. But, I do have a few trusted people that are in the same business as me with whom I like to share best practices.

And I also figure the coaches are like me -- they will be in a continual state of learning as long as they have that career.

...to the continuing education folks at MSU.

5 hours of CEU credit apiece for consulting with Mike Leach of Texas Tech... Hmmm...

.........the 1979 Alabama team, the 1973 Alabama team, the 1964 Alabama team, and the 1961 Alabama team.

By the way, I heard today that Croom is a huge fan of H.G. Wells.
