Any info on St Charles North facilities?

Parking, better than most. Walk is around the north Part of school. Some handicap spots might be available right by the field on west? Side of school if they let you in there.

Nice people, tickets on visitor side. Home fans have the longer walk unless I missed a parking lot on the home side.

Good size visitor stands with handicap accessibility. Good size concession stands with good food and competent, hard working staff on the home side but it’s more near the end zone so not a bad walk. The bigger bathroom is there too and I think it’s heated. I’d imagine they’d have some satellite bathrooms also for games like this.

I’d give them about an 8 out of 10 on facilities compared to the other places in the state.

SR played there last year in second round and while the semifinal crowd will be larger, there was also a big swim meet or volleyball playoff going on but all of it was handled by North’s staff and it was all a well run event.

I might be wrong on my directionals because that would mean the field is built with a EW orientation which usually isn’t the case but it was a cloudy, rainy day and didn’t think to check the map. Edited: Field is NS.

Enjoy the game and good luck to your Caravan!

StCN’s field runs N-S.
Depending how early you arrive for the game eat at Salerno’s Pizza (about a mile south of the school on Rt 31) and then take the footbridge across the Fox to Pottawatomi Park. Nice walk and beautiful views of the leaves still hanging on.
3 minute drive north to the school.

Yep, just checked the map and was responding. Normal parking leads to a walk around the N side of the school and possible handicap parking on west side but it’s usually closed to allow pedestrian activity. I remember St. Charles police helping with traffic flow off of red gate and they were helpful. Plenty of standing room to all around the stadium. They have a video board also. Thanks Illini for correcting my memory

Great post. A few things I'd add.

1) Attendance was so low against Rita because about 4 other teams had playoff games that Saturday afternoon.

2) If you have time, I'd recommend going to downtown st. charles to eat before the game. Lots of good restaurants/pubs along main st (Rt. 64) near the river. My favorite is Main St. Pub. If you want an Irish pub, McNally's is as good as any bar on the south side

3) Waze will probably tell you to take I-88 to kirk rd. Don't listen to it -- it never accounts for the massive backup and stop and go on Kirk Rd. Take 290 to Army Trail Road.

4. Rt. 31 is a massive speed trap. Don't go more than 4 mph over the limit or you will get a ticket, especially on a game day.

5) If this is a Saturday afternoon game, I'd expect MC to have a bigger crowd due to the state swim meet where SCN is a massive favorite. For this reason, I wouldn't be surprised is SCN pushes for a Sat nite game.

Go Caravan.

Their band, if there this week, makes it an almost college like atmosphere.. Visitor stands very small..

Oh you’re in for a treat then lol! Remember you are headed to a 5a school (when multiplied) with enrollment of 750 who plays teams in the 500-1000 enrollment range on average. (And they are usually private schools so they don’t have entire towns supporting them.)

I wouldn’t call the visitor stands small but they are broken up into like 5 mini sections, the sections are small but overall seating is decent. I found the distance from the field annoying you are much further from the field then at your typical stadium. Overall it is a very nice facility.

What Pomazak has done at SCN is really impressive. 5-6 years ago SCN was always a 2-7/3-6 team and facilites were maybe average at best. SCN now has a brand new turf field, video board and community involvement in the program is like nothing STC has seen in my opinion. From the band to the concessions to private vendors (Dick Pond sporting goods, Jersey mikes subs) it really is a great atmosphere. Big home bleachers, visitors still so-so, but a good amount of parking and St. Charles police always there to direct traffic in and out of the venue. SCN is overall a pretty good venue to play at, and if you all have some extra time I recommend checking out downtown St. Charles just down the road, tons of great sports bars and places to eat!
