I saw where the new Mac OS is free as long as you are running Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion. Folks are claiming 30-40% better battery life, and better memory usage with Apple's new compression methods. I was thinking about upgrading, but I don't really have any complaints with my current version. You can't beat free though.... FYI, I'm running Lion on a Macbook Pro.

Downloaded it yesterday on a 2011 MacBook Pro.
It is giving me longer battery life so far. You can be running ANY operating system on an Apple computer from as far back as 2007 and update for free. Nearly 10% of all Apple users downloaded it within the first 24 hours. That's a ton of Mac computers.
