Amen on Lanier. Can you imagine starting Oweh and Lanier with Robinson and Brea off the bench?

I know it would be mental. Just having a lineup with Oweh, Lanier, and Brea at times. Add in Almonor at the 4 and Carr at the 5. Wow that would be a crazy versatile shooting lineup. We could run Butler/Oweh/Lanier/Brea/Carr and go small. Robinson would thrive off the bench I believe.

I believe in Pope and staff’s evaluations. Lanier is the only guy we invested significant human capital and significant relative NIL commitment, but did not get. Now look what he is doing.

Hopefully it changes, but has Almonor made a shot lately- I thought he was supposed to be a very good 3 pt shooter

The quality in this year’s and next year’s high school senior classes is more highly regarded than what will be in the next two transfer portals.

To be honest, if we have Wilson in the bag and if we know Oweh is leaving(two big if’s), I would much rather have Alijah Arenas. He is big enough to guard 3’s.

I would take Ament with open arms, but would rather have Alijah, if we are in the market for a SF/2G.

read somewhere that "supposedly" the 3 schools giving the most attention to Arenas is Arizona, Souther Cal & UK

According to Lewis, the plan that Pope laid out to him was as such:

Four Freshmen (Moreno, Johnson, Lewis, and hopefully Wilson)

Five returning players (Oweh, Garrison, Chandler, Perry, Noah)

Three Portal Transfers (TBD)

That’s 12 scholarship players.

Like I said, that’s from Lewis’ mouth.

I am sure that could change, but that seems like a solid plan.

The last few scholarships probably go to walk-on level guys, if he uses them.

Absolutely and it could cut either way - better HS though less experience or better Portal via experience. Hard to tell for sure. But all Freshman starting lineup is a hard pass for me.

Yes, per his dad. Aaron Torres says it is down to Ky, USC(Musselman coached Dad) and Arizona(Dad went to school there). Decision is not expected until late March/April.
