I know it's early, but I've gotta believe some of those fence-sitters, and maybe even some of those already committed to %@@# are beginning to re-think their positions.<div>

I think these two teams will have the same or very similar records at the end of the year (as they do now). I doubtthe records of theteams will affect the recruits unless MSUor OM gets on a roll, while the other team takes a nose dive.

4 for UM seems possible, but as bad as UM apparently is, they've still got Vandy, UT, and UK, not to mention2 more non-conference games. My guess is UM ends up being the worst SEC team ever to go 5-7.

I've got a feeling we'll win as many as 8, and OM finishes with 4 or less.
Before last week, I thought 8 was possible. Maybe not likely, but possible.

Right now - not possible. To win 8, we absolutely can't lose any shoulda-won games. The Auburn loss was a shoulda-won, so I can't see us taking 8.

Alcorn and UAB should be gimmes, which gets you to 3.

Houston, Kentucky, and Ole Miss are all games you could win that wouldn't be huge shockers. Winning all those would get you to 6.

I think LSU and UGA are also winnable.

You'd have to sweep basically all of those to get to 8, and 5 of them are definitely loseable.

I don't see anyone beating Bama, especially in Tuscaloosa. Florida hasn't looked great, but I don't see it in Gainesville. I don't like your match up with Arkansas, so those 3 I chalk up to losses for you.

I think it's more likely you'd see us with only 4 wins than for you to get to 8. We could very well be on a path to both being 5-6 playing for a bowl game the last game of the season. That is, if we still have an OL by then. If not, we may just be playing spoiler.

Their freshman qb really impressed me and you know the NCAA is going to let AJ Green back right before the State game.

Jervohnte Riles, 3-star TE recruit from Bessemer, AL and committed to Arkansas, is thinking about decommitting. He came to the Auburn game in Starkville and had some good conversations with our coaches and players.

Alcorn and UAB are gimmes.
Houston we should win, but they have Keenum. 65% MSU win
Kentucky will be tough we have them at home. 55% MSU win
Georgia has georgia talent. We have them at home. 45% MSU win
LSU has the hat, they are still lsu and we play them there. 30% MSU win
Rebels, unless they make a miraculous turnaround. 65% MSU win
Bama forget it
Florida 25% MSU win
Arkansas we get at home 40% MSU win
Of course, this is a very early guess and doesn't include unknowns that will happen along the way.

with AU until they beat someone I know is good. MSU may be good this year but they didn't look like Thursday. If AU stomps Clemson I will concede they are good. I actually like Clemson to beat them this weekend. I think UGA can still challenge for the East with UF looking down and SC having a murderers row from the west.

who think winning at Houston is a high probability. Our offense is going to have to play at a high level to win that game on the road. Houston will put up a good number of points if Keenum is healthy and last year I was very disappointed that our offense could only put up 17 points against their defense even with the bad calls. I would personally put our odds of beating KY at home to around 65% but I would drop our odds against Houston to something less than 50%. I will say though that if Keenum doesn't play for some reason (and he's out with a concussion right now) then we definitely should win the game.

Clemson is pretty good and their qb will be special. I am worried that they gave up 21 to Presbyterian but I didn't get to see that game. Clemson might win the ACC this year (which currently isn't saying much). I just don't buy the AU hype right now. herbstreit picking them to win the west was just idiotic.

With impartial refs last year we kill them. They won't have their refs in this one. We won't have Dixon, but we will have better balance. I feel wooly indeed on this one.

if we had gotten the calls our way last year we probably would have won but we definitely wouldn't have killed them. And that was in Starkville, not Houston. And just because we should have SEC refs this year, based on past history, I certainly wouldn't expect any favors from them.

North Texas outgained Clemson 462 - 423. If Clemson can't stop NT then I see them having a real problem stopping Auburn.

Clemson was up 51-0 before Presbyterian College got on the board so not much to go on there. PC still rushed for 140 on them even if it was the scrubs for most of that yardage.

I look for Auburn to win could be close though. Remember it is in Auburn.

Not happening. The fans up here think it's in the bag. I'm telling them they're crazy. Auburn will dominate.

The most obvious one was the "illegal pas/beyond the LOS" call. anotehr was Houston;s first interception in their territory. Seemed clear to me the defender arrived early, and should have been called for PI. He hit our WR early, causing the ball bounce of the WR's shoulder pads, and then get intercepted.<div>
</div><div>The fact that Houston was holding all day long, attempting as many passes as they did, yet never got called for holding, and only one penalty at all, coming midway through the 4th Q. That's a huge handicap for a defense to overcome, yet we still managed to keep it close.</div><div>
</div><div>So yes, I think we would have beat Houston handily, by a good 14 points of that game is officiated fairly. I do understand what you mean by expecting no help from SEC refs, but since we're not playing another SEC team, I don't expect them to intentionally screw us.</div>

I haven't seen a ton of Houston's offense, but from what I've seen, it's the typical sling it around 50 times a game spread, which means the ball is in and out of the QBs hands in a couple seconds at most, usually relying on the short, quick passing game. It doesn't take much to pass block when your QB isn't holding the ball very long. All you have to do is get in someone's way for a second.

It's the type of offense that you would expect to see very few holding calls.

here's some info on the recruiting front. Nick James, the big DL from Long Beach, has named Tennessee and bama his leaders. Wonderful to see these young studs hankering to get the f out of state.

They were holding all day long. We were putting great pressure on their QB. Perhaps they could do as you describe against C-USA teams, but that was not the case last year against us. Their refs were in the bag for them, whether intentionally or subconsciously. Hell, we actually had to challenge once because they were gonna give Houston a 5th down.<div>

Refs established early on they would not let Houston hold all game long w/o penalty. Result was a domination by MSU.
