Everybody that I talk to is freaking out after watching us Saturday. Granted we were in a base 4-3 and didn't show much. I was there and didnt see quite enough to have an opinion. What are your thoughts?

Not at all. Our schedule lines up very tough for us out of the gate. We need to be 2-1 after the 1st 3 games. If OSU lights up our D, I feel it will be a long season.

OSU has scored less than 30 points only twice in the last 3 seasons (they won both of those games also).

I don't think it's a matter of "if":

Impossible to make assessments about our team from the spring game. Especially since most of the team was out all night at the frat parties the night before...

Our defense's priority Saturday was not getting hurt and not hurting anyone. Not concerned at all till I am a quarter in on Aug 31st then I will reevaluate.

They aren't scoring that many points on a BCS division school. Especially not an SEC team. Not even Bama and LSU, both of which love to score on us, can pull off that

Look, we aren't beating OSU unless we score 40+. Their defense will be worse than ours, so it's going to come down to offensive execution and getting a few stops.

Look at our games from last year. We gave up a lot of points to A&M, LSU, and UM, but all of them are completely different games if we don't turn the ball over so much.

We have to be efficient on offense. Plain and simple.

What division do you think they play in?

Those scores were against teams like Oklahoma, A&M, Stanford (with Luck), Texas, etc

Our defense will be much improved. We got much better the day Georgia took Wilson off our hands.

OSU has scored less than 30 points only twice in the last 3 seasons (they won both of those games also).

I don't think it's a matter of "if":

It's a very big matter of "if". How many SEC-quality defenses have they seen in the past 3 years? They've seen none better than what we will show them -- hell, the best defense they've seen in that timeframe is approximately equal to the one that got our DC fired last year -- and we've got an advantage of them not having any game film of how to gameplan for Collins' defensive attack...

Broken down to BCS opponents.
2012 OKLAHOMA STATE COWBOYS SCHEDULE
L59-38 vs Arizona -- #104(35.3ppg) -- 2.7 over
L41-36 vs Texas -- #72(29.2ppg) -- 6.8 over
W20-14 vs Kansas -- #112(36.1ppg) -- 22.1 under
W31-10 vs Iowa St -- #38(23.9ppg) -- 7.1 over
W36-14 vs TCU -- #30(22.6ppg) -- 13.2 over
L44-30 vs Kansas St -- #28(22.2ppg) -- 7.8 over
W55-34 vs West Va -- #117(38.1ppg) -- 16.9 over
W59-21 vs Texas Tech -- #91(31.8ppg) -- 27.2 over
L51-48 OT vs Oklahoma -- #50(25.5ppg) -- 22.5 over
L41-34 vs Baylor -- #113(37.2ppg) -- 3.2 under
W58-14 vs Purdue -- #87(31.2ppg) -- 26.8 over

They scored, on average, 9.61ppg more than the teams they played allowed on average.

In the past 3 years, we've allowed:
2012: 23.3ppg
2011: 19.7ppg
2010: 19.6ppg

Based on this, their scoring "expectation" against us should be approximately 33ppg IF we didn't improve defensively at all from last year, which would be a huge disappointment...

Not too shabby on offense thought. I hope they don't bring back Brandon Weeden, Dez Bryant, Justin Blackman, and Joseph Randle.

I'm sure nobody noticed that their defense ranked 94 and 105 the past two years.**

We're gonna punish them with our ol and rb's in the second half. We'll win

I'm thinking a 2011 Gator Bowl kind of game. School comes in to supposedly throttle us and we snap it off in their Mike Gundy asses kind of game. Seriously, OSU will be missing a lot of pieces from their team last year.

USM may have done us a solid by taking their OC. Their spring game score was 17-7. They return a lot of talent, but they lost it at a few key positions: WR, OL, and DE. I think it's going to be a good game that goes to the 4th quarter.
