Kirby would be a great hire anywhere... ...but I doubt WVU has any plan to hire a new coach ATM.

Actually, he makes $1.5 million, so paying hom what we pay Dana would double his income. Money is not going to be our problem with any realistic candidate. The problem may be that though we can match any offer anyone we seek would get elsewhere, he still might prefer a different job for different reasons.
Kirby Smart would jump at the chance to double his salary and assume the throne at WV. Money drives every mans decision. Well...........................either money or sex will do it. But, trust me on this one. Mr. Smart will not be your coach next year. Your coach will be Mr. Holgs.

I agree. And his defenses won't work in the Big 12 even with Bama talent. And what kind of offense would he run? If you don't have a high powered O you can't even compete in the Big 12. So what OC we gonna throw big bucks at? A Leach/Dana protege? We got the real deal here now and for the record our offense hasn't been a problem for the most part. It's been the weird stuff .. muffled punts, fumbles, injured QBs, and a tough schedule.
Kirby Smart would not come here. If and when WVU hires another coach it would be from a small conference or a bar stool like the last time. This is a stepping stone job for a young guy looking to move to an established program.
