Somewhat of a habit I have picked up. Love a good time piece. Love a good dime piece even more though. Anyone purchase any watches lately? If so, what was it?
Pic?Just picked up a Rolex that was made in 1942. Original parts. Still works.
Bro, that's a wartime Rolex. Have you had it appraised?Just picked up a Rolex that was made in 1942. Original parts. Still works.

Austin, I'm lying out my teeth. I don't own a Rolex. Especially one made during WWII
I also don't have a vault in my wall either.
Actually, there is nothing I have said in any thread that is even remotely true.
[laughing]Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
And ... FIFY. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Do Rolex's hold their value the best? Best way to buy?
They do well, but there are more expensive other brands that do as well if not better.
I have an old Casio calculator watch and an 80's early 90s vintage ironman somewhere.
Such as?
I would love a Omega. Or Tag. Or Breitling. But school loans remain a priority.

There are other much higher end time pieces worth way more money, but personally, I respect the hell out of a Rolex because it's basically worldwide currency. Buy a $7,000 Rolex today and five years from now find yourself broke and alone in Bangledesh...well...they've got 7 grand on that wrist that used to be attached to your arm. Think Omega and Ball bring as much to the table in terms of quality, but there is no denying Rolex's worldwide appeal and value.
Rolex does hold value best in my opinion. Buy pre-owned, that's what I've done and as long as you "buy the seller" and have it verified you are fine. The resale value (not that you would sell) is even better in that case. Take care of it and you won't lose a penny. I don't think that is necessarily true for the other brands in similar price range.Do Rolex's hold their value the best? Best way to buy?
