Any word on any additional Bowls for SEC? If not the low end

Other than the rare exception, there are only three things I care about during bowl season. The BCS championship game, our game(when applicable), and any other SEC team. It seriously pissed me off last year when I had to sit through three weeks of bore fest to get to the bulk of the SEC games, and then they had something like 4 on at the same time. That can't help tv ratings either.
i'd prefer they put more bowls on new years day instead of stretching them out for a week or more after new years day. and no bowls with sec affiliations are going to air before christmas, usually the earliest is 12/29 or 12/30, and a lot of the decent bowls aren't going to give up one fo the few remaining NYD spots so that the gator bowl fans can make sure to watch south carolina in the cap one bowl or something. also, the BCS has their time slots blocked off, so the rose bowl is played later afternoon, meaning all the other NYD games must be finished by then, hence having a the gator bowl, cap one bowl, outback bowl, and maybe the cotton (though it's moved dates recently) overlapping.
If the BCS drops it's affiliations with all the bowls and only sponsors the NC game I would be happy. I think this would open up some bigger bowls for the SEC. I don't doubt for one minute that the Orange Bowl would love to have the opportunity to negotiate a dealwith the SEC. After watching all these BCS games that had average teams that would get their asses kicked in the SEC stink up those games some things need to change.
What I'd like to see is a week of good bowls between Christmas and New Years, then play the 4 traditional BCS bowls on NYD + maybe 2 others, then have the winners of 2 semifinal games on NYD play for the title on the 2nd Saturday night after NYD (would have been the 14th this year, which is the latest it could possibly be.
