not sure if they will participate in the Spring. AJ and Chaney will probably, not sure about Elliot. Jury is still out whether McRae will play again.

but i'm going to have to say the chance of McRae playing for us next Fall is about 25%...his injury is one that is tough to overcome, and I dont think 8 months is going to be enough time...

I'd suggest he get a medical redshirt and try it again in 2010

I don't think I would be comfortable allowing him to play next year just because I would doubt that it would be strong enough. I think a Med Redshirt would be a good idea.

....isnt doing that well with his rehab. Ive heard that he isnt pushing that hard to get back on the field. I dont know if this is true or not. If anyone else knows more about this i would like to know.

The staff wanted him to fix both ligaments in one surgery, but the family opted for 2 different ones, and I think he just had his 2nd one. I'm positive about the separate surgeries but not the timing on the second one.

I am currently recovering from ACL surgery and I feel like if I had to go under the knife again in a few months that would do me in. You would basically have to start your rehab over. I assume they have a doctor advising them to take this route - but who knows.

Yea i wasnt sure if what i heard was true. I talked to his aunt that works at State after it happen and she said that he was a tough guy and that he will work hard to get back on the field. Then i heard this and i didnt know which one to beleive. I hope he is back on the field next year.

AJ is transferring to Jackson State due to grades, gungate, failed drug tests, and his inability to get along with any coach ever.

about McRae. I could see him maybe having to sit out 2009, but I really think that would be worst case scenario. I think everyone saw Prothro's injury and they assume it's a career ending thing, but the difference is to me just looking at from a glance with no x-rays, charts or anything is that McRae's fracture was higher, where the leg is more stable, which to me it would make sense that he could come back and play at a reasonable level.

The thing about Elliott pisses me off if it's true about him not putting forth enough effort in rehab. Someone on our <17> coaching staff needs to be with him and force him to do what he needs to do. You never hear about someone from Florida "not giving enough effort with their rehab." Where the hell are our trainers?

seemed to be fine. Damn, I hope what you are saying is wrong. If Elliot is not rehabing like he should then that falls on the training staff. When anyone had any type of surgery back in the Felker days, the coaches and the trainers made damn sure that you attended every rehab session and completed every excercise for that session.

I really think Croom had completely lost his team for whatever reasons, I'm sure we would speculate many of them correctly, but I'm glad that we have an AD that was willing to make the right decision instead of letting our program fester into a steaming pile of crap.

what could have caused them ? Turf type , shoe type etc.etc. ? These injuries really bother me in that a healthy young athlete can just be making a cut and break his leg. I`m sure a lot of research is being done to prevent this but damn what a waste.

I'm not really sure about McRae's injury. But Brown's injury is just like Prothro's from bama. They both had high ankle braces on and spatted cleats/wrapped ankles. so when they twist their ankles there is no movement at the ankle and movement must come from somewhere so it goes up the leg at the tibia/fibula, therefore, causing a break there.

And regarding Elliot: State only has athletic trainers to rehab the players and not physical therapists. and the PT's in Starkville are not the best in the world if he is seeing one of them. I saw him pre-operatively and he's a good kid and works hard so don't put all the blame on him. Returning from ACL is difficult and even more difficult if you don't have the best people working on you.</p>

those guys do a good job and know what they're doing. at least that's who they used to use. i don't see how they could not use licensed PTs and avoid getting sued.

yeah, but there's also the mental aspect during rehab, which can totally mess with your head. ask clarence mcdougal about that.

He was apparently in Croom's doghouse. Hard to get out of there. I guess he should have beaten up an off duty cop, that would have gotten him nothing, not even a single game suspension. Or, I guess it helps if your name is Derek Pegues.

Croom was highly inconsistent with the way he handed our punishment. He had his favorites and they could have gotten away with murder. Others made mistakes and might as well transfer. See Riddell, Josh. I'm so glad that walking contradiction is gone.

You'd think Sly would have let AJ slide no matter what seeing as how he basically won the only game Croom really cared about in 2007.
