Guaranteed $32 Million Dollars his first 3 years, $57 Million his 4th year and Max Contract iowatds of $400 Million his 5th year. So nah I don't buy him returning.

There is also a lot of endorsement money waiting for him besides that; there always is for #1 picks but more for him than some unknown Euro.

I think people underestimate the draw of these guys wanting to be rich, young adult men vs wealthy college students. These guys want to buy a house, be their own man, start thier lives. Screw living in dorms, and classes, and rules, and curfews etc. I know that would absolutely be a draw for me.

A few variables to think about here:

1. This would be a middle finger to Adam Silver (Duke Alum) if this type of **** started because of a Dookie. If you are so damn good-have an organization build around you.

2. Boozer Twins/Flagg situation. We were told that one of the main reasons Flagg moved up to '24 class was to make sure Duke could land all of them because the Boozers/Flagg don't get along. I don't see how Cam/Cooper could play on the same team at all personally. They need the ball (deservedly) and would cause Twins to open up their recruitment if he stayed IMO.

3. Injury Risk--he had a scare this year already. Don't care how much NIL $ you make--entire point most players have in reclassifying that are sure things is to get to the League ASAP--have a chance to make 3/4 MAX Contracts and be set for life with beyond generational $. Want to risk that because you love Duke? We're not talking the difference in being the 25th pick in the 1st Rd or a mid 2nd Rd pick-we're talking the #1 pick in the entire Draft.

Now we could see a fixed Draft Lottery to assure Flagg or even have teams trade with the team who wins the #1 pick and they get rewarded down the line from Silver-but he's got to enter the Draft this year or else some serious questions need to be taking place with the Duke monopoly over the sport and starting with that cuckold, Nosferatu looking Commissioner.

Another year of Flagg waving in college basketball would suck to have to endure, from a personal standpoint. But why would he stay at dUKe when you're the #1 NBA draft pick?

Absolutely 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000%

He gone. As he should be. He did well enough, came up short for a title. I wish him luck. He's a good player. It'll be interesting to see how he does at the NBA level.

Guaranteed $32 Million Dollars his first 3 years, $57 Million his 4th year and Max Contract upwards of $400 Million his 5th year. So nah I don't buy him returning.

Exactly. Idk what he's making on NIL, but it's nothing close to those numbers guaranteed. Flagg staying in school would be an extremely irresponsible financial decision.

No and even the worse teams in the league don't have a great shot anymore at the #1 pick... it's a true lottery system.

I haven't been, but apparently he doesn't want to play for Washington, and he will still make millions in college. Not loving the idea of him staying, with the Boozer twins coming in too.
Funny, cause I saw an interview of him saying he didn't care where he played, that he just thanks God he's able to play at a high level and whatnot, but said he didn't care who drafted him.

I think he could be considering it.

1) kids have made a lot dumber choices than that, as have adults (I did at 50ish)
2) for a basketball star, college life is probably pretty amazing (he probably has all 7 attractive Duke Coeds, 1 for each night of the week)
3) put off the responsibilities of working (I know it's a game) for a living
4) financially it might not even be a negative, hear me out.
What is his rookie contract worth, $32M guaranteed over 3 years. Nothing after that is guaranteed. Suppose that Black-market Duke NIL fund put $20M in front of him to stay for 1 more year. Next year he's still going #1, with probably a guaranteed $35M over 3 years. All he's done is delay his opportunity at a max deal by 1 year.
5) once you are hitting 9-figures on career earnings, which he almost certainly will, the exact amount may not matter to some people. 500M or 600M I don't care, me nor my decendents will ever have to worry about $ again (unless do something really stupid, in which case it didn't matter).

Now is he likely considering it? No, probably not. Maybe it's just an attempt to look good to the Duke fans, maybe even to get them off his back for a few weeks. But is it possible? Sure.

How much did Duke give him last year?

If he would have been able to go straight to league as the #1 pick this past season..... 10.47 million

In 25-26 that goes to 11.5 million.....36 million for 3 seasons
